It’s a weirdly hot day, that kind of warmth you could see better than feel. ....Nino ....leaves his house, the plan schedules a musical afternoon with ....Giodee..... A bass and a drum, nothing more. The sky is out there, as if it has always been, but today it alternates unusual green shades to habitual white and blue. The street has never moved too, nevertheless it seems it’s going to let itself collapse. It’s a day like no other, it’s unmistakable. There are no cars, just a dog dogging him away, with the typical demeanor of who feels ashamed to beg leave. The bass weighs, but it’s there too, on the shoulders, as if it’s waiting to wake up in the fullness of time. It’s a day like no other, but Nino doesn’t know why, yet. He just thinks to walk, because the road to the rehearsal room is very long. Then, suddenly, a thunder. Eyes up, just some brushstroke of clouds, nothing more. Weird, maybe it wasn’t a thunder, maybe there’s been no noise’s hint. Nino eyes the dog, as to ask confirmation. Nothing, no response. Thus he keeps walking with the fear and the hope that something could happen at any time. And so did it, another thunder. Nino stops, the dog stops too. They both understood. .. .... It’s a day like no other, JohnDoe’s born..... .. That afternoon Nino and Giodee will play themselves into the ground, starting to compose right away. The “thing” takes an unforeseeable shape. A bass and a drum becoming one unconditional entity, giving life to an amazing alchemy. The two become one and the need to play music turns into the only way to survive. ..Soundscapes in odd times with influences from Prog to Krautrock, to Post-Rock, passing by the Dark Wave and the symphonic music. JohnDoe begin a decidedly instrumental path during about one year. Then the necessity to give a voice to JohnDoe takes life and, with the addition of ....Giuseppe Barresi...., the duo-project becomes a band, reaching the necessary musical maturity. The three start to forge ahead. They immediately produce “Re-Code”, their first Ep (February 2009) followed by the more complete ....”Osmoplasy” ....(September 2008). “Osmoplasy” earns a great success, mainly in the U.S., thanks to the independent label DeathToMusic which decides to release the EP. Soon after its birth, “Osmoplasy” comes in the hands of Paolo Messere, artistic producer of ....Seahorse Recordings..... In a couple of days JohnDoe sign their first contract with Seahorse. In March 2009 they record their first official album ....|8 DIAGRAMS| ....(Seahorse Recordings) that will be out on April, 2010..... ......VERSIONE ITALIANA......È Dicembre, domenica pomeriggio. Basso e batteria, niente di più. Il cielo è lì, dove è sempre stato, ma oggi alterna insolite sfumature verdi ai consueti spruzzi bianchi e azzurri. Anche la strada non si è mai mossa, eppure sembra quasi che stia per lasciarsi sprofondare. Non è un giorno come gli altri, è evidente. Non ci sono macchine, solo un cane che lo segue a distanza, con l’atteggiamento di chi si vergogna di chiedere il permesso. Il basso pesa, ma anche lui è lì, sulle spalle, come se aspettasse il momento giusto. Non è un giorno come gli altri, ma Nino non sa ancora perché. Bada solo a camminare, perché la strada fino alla sala prove è lunga. Poi,all’improvviso, un tuono. Sguardo in su, solo qualche pennellata di nuvole, nulla di più. Strano,forse non è stato un tuono, forse non c’è stato neanche l’accenno di un rumore. Nino guarda il cane, quasi come se volesse chiedergli conferma. Nulla, il cane non lo guarda nemmeno. Allora riprende a camminare con la paura e la speranza che possa succedere qualcosa da un momento all’altro. E infatti ecco un altro tuono. Nino si ferma, anche il cane si ferma. Hanno capito entrambi... ....Non è un giorno come gli altri: è appena nato JohnDoe .... .. Quel pomeriggio Nino e Giodee suoneranno ininterrottamente fino allo sfinimento, cominciando subito a comporre. La “cosa” prende una forma del tutto imprevedibile. Un basso e una batteria che diventano un’unica entità. Un’alchimia subito spiazzante anche per loro stessi. I due diventano uno e la necessità di suonare si trasforma ben presto nell’unico modo per sopravvivere. ..Soundscapes in tempi dispari con influenze che vanno dal Prog al Krautrock, al Post-rock, passando per la Dark-Wave e la musica sinfonica. I JohnDoe iniziano un percorso prettamente strumentale lungo circa un anno. Ben presto prende corpo la necessità di dare una voce a JohnDoe e con l'arrivo nel gruppo di ....Giuseppe Barresi .... il progetto diventa una band raggiungendo presto una certa maturità musicale. I tre cominciano a bruciare le tappe. Producono subito "Re-Code", il loro primo EP (febbraio 2007) seguito dal più completo .... "Osmoplasy" ....(settembre 2008)."Osmoplasy" riscuote subito un buon successo, anche negli USA, dove l'etichetta indipendente DeathToMusic decide di occuparsi della release e definisce col termine .."HypnoProg" ..il genere dei JohnDoe. Grazie a un'intensa attività live e studio i JohnDoe si avvicinano “progressivamente” al pubblico. Poco dopo la sua nascita, “Osmoplasy” viene notato (nel settembre 2008) da Paolo Messere, produttore artistico della .... Seahorse Recordings ..... Nel giro di un paio di giorni i JohnDoe firmano il loro primo contratto discografico proprio con la Seahorse. A marzo 2009 i tre entrano in studio per le registrazioni del loro primo album ufficiale ....|8 DIAGRAMS| ....
