About John von

John von Seggern is a bassist, producer, sound designer and DJ, relocated to Southern California in 2001 after a decade spent in Asia (Tokyo and Hong Kong) performing and recording with some of the region's most influential artists.

von Seggern now lives in Los Angeles, where he plays live jazz and techno and runs net.label Vibration Institute. His latest musical explorations include playing bass for LA-area dub jazz group Thelonious Dub as well as sound design for the Pixar film WALL.E and producing electronic jazz group Simplexity (a collaboration with Los Angeles studio musicians Steve Tavaglione, Judd Miller, Gary Novak, John Beasley and Dave Carpenter).

We used to get on stage with empty drum machine patterns and make up music on the spot programming in each note with no predefined loops. My electro project should be putting out an EP soon too will keep you in the loop. RuDi
