Should I get someone to write me a fancy bio? Maybe. But until then I'll just give it to you first hand...
Where to start... Well, I'm from Texas. Lived here most of my life. I grew up in a rural neighborhood Northwest of the Houston area. As a kid I remember spending most of my days outside. I loved anything and everything outdoors, and still do. Didn't start playing guitar until I was around 15. At that point I wasn't really in to singing, I just wanted to play. Senior year rolled around and I remember so desperately trying to figure out an alternative to college. I knew from the age of 17 I wanted to make a living playing music, and I couldn't see how college fit in to those plans. Long story short, I ended up going to school, and looking back it all makes sense. College was a chance for me to get my feet under me. I went to class enough to pass, and in the mean time I was laying the groundwork to start a career in music. My junior year of college I took the plunge and started pursuing music full time. It was calculated, but it was intimidating. I put out a record on a very limited budget and started promoting it in every way possible. I feel so blessed to have accomplished what I have. I got songs from that album placed all over shows on MTV, ABC, and the Lifetime network, while I toured the country multiple times playing for the very people who employ me. Where am I at now? I'm living in Austin TX, Writing, and focusing my efforts on my next album. I don't have an exact release date yet, but I'll have some updates soon, and I absolutely can not wait to share these songs with you. Thank you so much for your undying support, and your enthusiasm. You make my job a reality.
Please support indie music! If you like what you hear coming out of the music player, head on over here (www.jonathanclay.com) and pick up a CD. You can also download it from iTunes. If you can't do that, pass my name along to a friend. Every little bit definitely helps! :-)
