Jordan Knight helped spark a pop music phenomenon with The New Kids On The Block, becoming an international household name and earning millions of devoted fans. Today, he is a multi-faceted artist wearing several hats from singer, songwriter and musician to producer, TV star, and devoted family man.
Jordan joined The New Kids On The Block when he was 14 and by the time he was 18, the group had a string of number one hits that landed them on arena tours worldwide, selling more than 90 million albums. While The New Kids On The Block were a global success, there's no question that Jordan was a stand out star.
With his pitch-perfect falsetto and energizing stage presence, Jordan emerged as a lead singer both in the studio and on stage. Jordan's behind the scenes talents earned him producer and choreographer credits, and his good looks landed him a spot as one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.
After teaching himself to play the piano, he soon began writing songs and offered his composition, "I'll Be Your Everything," to a young singer named Tommy Page. Page's version of the track, which Jordan also produced, went all the way to number one and spent 13 weeks on the Billboard charts.
In 1999, Jordan released a self-titled solo album produced by veterans Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. His first single, "Give It To You," was certified gold and platinum in countries around the world, reaching Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and nominated for a MTV VMA for Best Dance Video.
Jordan made his small screen debut in 2004 on VH1's 3rd season of the hit celeb-reality show "Surreal Life" and on the UK's hit TV show "Trust Me I'm A Holiday Rep" in the fall of 2005. He returned to national television in 2007 on NBC's game show "Identity."
Jordan released “The Fix” in the fall of 2005. The title track of the EP featured hip-hop all-stars Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick. The first single, “Where Is Your Heart Tonight,” was co-written by Jordan and reached Top 12 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Charts.
In the fall of 2006, “Love Songs” was released and featured Jordan singing some of his favorite 80s ballads as well as new material, including a duet with Deborah Gibson. The idea of Jordan singing love songs may have seemed like old news - after all, his voice has adorned some of the most romantic material, whether on the classic hits of The New Kids On The Block or on the solo CDs that established him as a star in his own right - but it made an inevitable and unforgettable step forward.
Jordan continues to tour the world's stages, proving he's got the right stuff and can give it to you at any stage of his career. Reflecting on lessons he's learned both artistically and personally, Jordan combines his proven hit making vocal skills with a willingness to take chances and reveal himself as an artist with a message that speaks to every listener, no matter how old or young.
