I remember being 5 or 6 years old, playing my grandfathers fifty dollar keyboard. That was the first taste of music I ever had. Then I got a trumpet a few years later, and I was the kid in the school band that couldn't read the sheet music, and played my own harmonies. Towards the end of my trumpet career, I began drumming. Then I got into musical theatre. In high school I attended the Academy of Performing Arts In Hartford Ct. Right around 16 years old I fell out of musical theatre. I just wanted to be in a band. So I rocked out with a couple groups for fun. But sophomore year of high school is where it all started. "Storyline Romance." That was my band. We played all sorts of local shows, and had a blast. The local punk kids loved our music. I went from a classically trained vocalist, that attended a prestigious academy, too a punked out teenager with dyed hair, tight pants, and way too many bracelets. I was listening to bands like Midtown, Rufio, Starting Line, and Silverstein. A whole new phase of my life took over, but as everything go's though, the band died down. I remember our last show at Webster Underground when I was like 18. But this is where my current project was born. I did not know ONE single chord on the guitar. But I had been picking up my band members guitars towards the end. I remember them laughing because I was playing our songs without being showed how. So I bought a 100 dollar guitar at the local music shop, recorded "Dry My Tears" and discovered a new way to bring my singing voice out of it's dusty old box. I wasn't a great guitar player at this point, but good enough to make simple songs. I found a way to incorporate all my musical abilities. In addition to my singer/songwriter project, Im a hip-hop producer. I found a true passion for making beats on the computer. I was put on this earth to make music. I am going to keep on doing that. Im taking this as far as I can. I strive to be different, creative, moving, and to gain more fans. One at a time. Thanks to anyone and everyone that supports this project! I love you -Jordan Meyer
Hey, you gotta let me know the next time you're at open mic. And if you have a song in mind, let me know, I should be able to free up a night or two to record some accompaniment. Your stuff sounds absolutely great.
