About José Ayerve / The Nuclear Waste Management Club
about THE NWMC
The Nuclear Waste Management Club began as a secondary, experimental recording project for Spouse frontman, José Ayerve. In 1998, Ayerve began amassing songs that were for whatever reason, not quite right for Spouse to perform. When he relocated to Northampton, Massachusetts in 2000, Ayerve began performing with a pick-up style band comprised of numerous musicians based in and around Western Massachusetts. The Nuclear Waste Management Club (NWMC) is now solidly represented by Anne Pinkerton (vocals), Peyton Pinkerton (guitar), Ken Maiuri (keys/guitar), Mark Schwaber (bass), JJ O'Connell (drums), and Scott Hall (piano/organ) along with Ayerve (vocals/guitar).
The debut album will be released in 2008 and it was recorded by Ayerve at Humble Abode/Mobile Womb in West Hurley, NY. The tracks were mixed and mastered by Mark Alan Miller at Slaughterhouse Studio in Hadley and Westhampton, MA.
The album features guest appearances by Doug Cowan and Zeke Fiddler.
about SOLO/SPANISH INDIE
José Ayerve released an EP of Spanish-language material in 2002. The EP was titled 'Cinco Pesos'. Since it's release, Ayerve has been incorporating a few Spanish-language tunes into most of the releases with his band, Spouse. However, recent spurts of inspiration have lead Ayerve to continue recording/mixing a new batch of Spanish-language material originally recorded for the RPM project (see: http://rpmchallenge.com ). He expects to release a new collection of Spanish & English language material later this year or early next.
