Josh Haden was born in 1968 into a very musical family; his father is jazz bassist Charlie Haden, and his sisters are Petra Haden (that dog., Foo Fighters, Decemberists, Sean Lennon), Rachel Haden (that dog., Rentals), and Tanya Haden (Silversun Pickups, Let's Go Sailing). Josh's band Spain has released three studio albums to wide critical acclaim and have toured all over the world. Josh's compositions have been included in many movie and television soundtracks and were recorded on Grammy-winning albums by Johnny Cash and Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden, respectively. Josh has performed with Handsome Boy Modeling School, Blue Man Group, Soulsavers, and many others.
Josh Haden's debut solo lp 'Devoted' was produced by Dan the Automator and features performances by former Spain guitarist/current Jack Johnson bassist Merlo Podlewski, keyboardist John Medeski, and turntablist Kid Koala. It was released in February, 2007.
Charlie Haden Family & Friends - Rambling Boy, which features Josh's family with guest appearances by Béla Fleck, Vince Gill, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Metheny, Ricky Skaggs, and many others, was released in 2008.
A brand new album by Spain is forthcoming.

cheers to the haden-family (what musical talent!!!) and i guess mr. black could cover my new tune "big brown eyes". i wanted to write a real rocker, but i don't know if it's more comedy than a stadium-anthem... or all of it?
