Josh Mayo was born and raised in Virginia. He started his musical career in high school as the drummer for a band called "Sweet Baby J" SBJ was very successful for having been the first band for Josh as well as the other bandmates. They wound up playing for as many as 800+ before eventually parting ways. Josh felt it was time to move on and he decided to pick up the guitar. After a couple of more shows with various groups, such as "Paul Goes Richter". He put down the drum sticks and produced his third album. With help from longtime supporter and good friend of the band, Bill Smythe. Josh and his band released, "Keepin' It Simple". Which featured the the sweet sounds of the Charlottesville/Staunton based band Modern Epic as Josh's back-up band.
Josh continues to perform all along the East Coast performing solo or sitting in with various groups and singer/songwriters.
