I can respect anything that takes talent. But every now and then you come across something or someone that knocks you off your feet and changes the way you look at something. The following are artists, bands, etc. that have had some sort of impact on me...whether it be melodically, lyrically, emotionally, etc. However...this doesn't mean that you will hear their influences in my music. These are just artists that have impacted me in some way. Off the top of my head... Robert Johnson, Son House, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Cake, Solomon, Eve 6, Stroke 9, Tonic, Third Eye Blind, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Avril, Dashboard, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Travis, Ben Folds, Coldplay, Imogen Heap, Death Cab, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Tower of Power, Weezer, the Fray, Hootie, Stevie Wonder, Toto, Brad Paisley, James Taylor, SRV, Blind Boys of Alabama, the Bee Gees, Les Miserables, etc...
I am a common man with very uncommon dreams, goals, and expectations. I follow my heart more than my mind. That can be good and bad. I take chances in life and have the scars to show for it. Not all of them are physical. I am Mississippi born and raised. But I'm only a little country. I am the son of a teacher and a minister. I am sometimes shy...and sometimes way too loud. Baseball is everything good in this world. The Chicago Cubs are everything great. I believe everything happens for a reason. I occasionally have too much fun, but that's ok. I can be a dork, but I can also be a goober. Music is my passion. I have struggled to find myself as a person... and as an artist. But I think I have found both. Hope you enjoy my music.
