What Others Are Saying...
"Joy Ike is one of the artists [who] will ultimately be responsible for placing Pittsburgh’s music scene firmly on the map." -Allhiphop.com
"...a rising artist, testing her own limits and searching for her voice, allows the music to come together in an honest way and an indescribable spell is cast over the audience. It’s real, it’s powerful, and adjectives or reviews don’t do it justice."- Soul-Audio
"…very much like a neo-soul contender in the vein of Corrine Bailey Rae or Norah Jones." -Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
"Ike’s lyrics not only connect to her listeners but they inspire, challenge, and motivate her listeners to push through life’s toughest spots one day at a time." -Wrecked For the Ordinary
Mark Dignam has been bumping into Paul Luc and Ben Shannon a lot, at Treelady Studios, where they are all working, on their upcoming albums. They admire each others work so much, they decided to put together what promises to be, a mini singer/songwriter festival.. Watch for special guests and a very memorable night at The Rex Theater, 1602 East Carson Street. Pittsburgh, PA 15203. 8pm. $10.
Thanks for the add and the interest in our music and what we are doing. Visit our page often for updates on the recording of our full length album and touring. And to answer your question.... We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Shadow Lounge. The sound was great, the atmosphere was great, and the people were even better. Hope to be back in Pittsburgh soon.
Peace my friend. I have yet to make the transition onto twitter. I am a strong believer in 'less is more.' Although, to keep it all the way real, I get strong encouragement from a few folks on a consistent basis to join twittermania!
