Joy...and the occasional extra...usually Chris, Elliot, and Peace...depending on who's available. And then when I go out of town its a whole new set of people. Sometimes I take advantage of my limbs and stomp and clap and snap...and that's my band.

What Others Are Saying...
"Joy Ike is one of the artists [who] will ultimately be responsible for placing Pittsburgh’s music scene firmly on the map." -Allhiphop.com
"...a rising artist, testing her own limits and searching for her voice, allows the music to come together in an honest way and an indescribable spell is cast over the audience. It’s real, it’s powerful, and adjectives or reviews don’t do it justice."- Soul-Audio
"…very much like a neo-soul contender in the vein of Corrine Bailey Rae or Norah Jones." -Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
"Ike’s lyrics not only connect to her listeners but they inspire, challenge, and motivate her listeners to push through life’s toughest spots one day at a time." -Wrecked For the Ordinary
Actually, I do more acoustic shows than full band right now. Our bass player moved to Ohio, so until we find another one, I'm looking for just acoustic shows.
Hey Joy, thanks for the add and your kind encouragement. I wish I could be around to hear you at Oil City this weekend, but I'm sure I'll see you around in the future. Great stuff!
Since we are all die hard fans of our hockey team, I am canceling the show this Friday.
I am so sorry if you were planning on coming to the show!
However, I can make it up to you.
I will be playing at my favorite venue in Pittsburgh, Diesel, with Steve Moakler: www. myspace. com/ stevemoakler
on June 26th (Friday). Let me know if you want tickets for this show, and I will get them to you!
It's going to be an awesome night of music, and I hope you understand why this show needed to be canceled.
Once again, let me know if you want tickets for this show! It'll be a blast :)
Love,
T.J.
Thanks for coming! Smiling is good...I'm a little stoic but was smiling on the inside!!! It was a good time, the stage was great. I wished you were up there singing "Aftermath"! Love your page by the way. See you soon...
Ya know, I bought your cd about a month ago right after I last commented you, and my wife and I have been listening to it pretty much non-stop. Strongman gets stuck in my head at least thrice a week (yeah, I said thrice). Anywho, just wanted to stop by and reiterate how wonderful your music is.
we don't do the screenprinting, but we make designs and then have them printed for crazy cheap on American Apparel. Our official website is samandsarahclothing.bigcartel.com. More designs coming soon, we would love to work with you. We're all about Pittsburgh performers.
Interesting, I thought you were glorifying the power of the individual being, as in affecting one's enemies on an emotional level by making them cry and getting them to realize their wrongs (via song, art, writing, etc.) as opposed to a mob which can only simply make them run away. I had it all wrong! :-)
