JTAF Bay Area celebrates anime fandom and Pan-Asian Entertainment in the San Francisco Bay Area.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JTAF 6 PLANS POSTPONED – JTAF 5 WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (October 17, 2007) – Project 760 Productions, the organizers for JTAF (formerly JapanTown Anime Faire), announces that plans for JTAF 6 will be postponed until further notice. Organizers will continue to plan events in the San Francisco bay area in order to remain in touch with the anime community.
"The decision to postpone JTAF 6 comes at a time when anime conventions around the country are re-inventing themselves in order to attract more visitors in an era of internet-downloadable videos and online shoppers, replacing anime video rooms and dealers halls," says Ray Nagar, JTAF's Chief Director. "During that downtime, we plan to take a long-overdue hiatus for JTAF and collaborate with local organizations to plan activities for anime, manga and cosplay fans in JTAF's absence. We would like to thank all of the companies and organizations that have supported us over the past five years and look forward to working with all of them again in the future."
The hiatus plan will not affect the plans for JTAF 5, set to take place on November 10-11, 2007 at San Francisco's Fort Mason Center. "We encourage attendees to pre-register and attend JTAF 5 as if it were business as usual," says Nagar. "We don't plan to go quietly without seeing all of our friends and supporters."
JTAF 5 events will feature musical guests Stephanie Yanez, akai SKY, Quarter Circle Jab, The Shogunate and Eloquence, with additional performances by AnimeMyu and appearances by convention guests of honor at large, convention photographer Eurobeat King and web comic artist Alexander Shen. Additional event information can be located at the JTAF website at http://www.project760.net/jtaf .

We wish we could have made it for the whole weekend for JTAF, but we were only able to make it for Akai Sky's and our performance. The vibes were very nice and it was heartening to see everyone who was involved. Your support has been immeasurable, and will always have our gratitude for that (Ray and everyone involved). We will miss JTAF tremendously, and whenever it returns we would be honored to perform there time and time again.
I have found sometime to upload a picture from my show at JTAF 5 in San Francisco! I just got to say that I love San Francisco so much! I have been honored to have a good amount of shows out in the bay area. And everytime I go the fans totally have mad crazy love! JTAF holds a very special place in my heart especially because it brought me close to the RANDOM NINJAS, AKAI SKY, and THE SHOGUNATE! Truly talented human beings and also very amazing people with big hearts! My first JTAF was JTAF 3 in 2005 and ever since then I have been invited out every year! 2005 was actually when I made my debut in the anime scene and JTAF was one of the first conventions that I was invited out too! So I am really sad to hear that it will not be around next year. And I will be waiting for the day when JTAF will be back in the hearts of all otaku again! ;p
JTAF 3 & 4 was held at Japan Town which I felt was a great setting for the con and also an excuse to get as much Hello Kitty merchandise as possible! Ha! But this time it was held at the Fort Mason Center. Even though Japan Town will always hold so many good memories I really enjoyed the new venue as well! I had such a great time singing with all of my soul to everyone that came out to my show! Seriously the bay area has some awesome supportive and crazy anime fans! ;P
I was so excited about the collabo that I did with THE SHOGUNATE! It was to the song "MISS YOU" by MFLO! We wrote all new lyrics about the only thing that matters POCKY! ;P I will be uploading videos from the "POCKY" performance as well as my show where I got my Lolita on! I want to thank Asianweek and Southwest Airlines for sponsorship. I want to thank the amazing JTAF staff for EVERYTHING! I will always remember Amy and Tanisia singing the english techno version of Sailor Moon! :) And of course to the big man on campus Ray Nagar of Project760 you have supported me ever since my debut in 2005 and that su
