SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 1, 2008) - Project 760 Productions, the organizers for JTAF (also known as “Japan Town Anime Faire”), announces its full name change from JTAF to Japan Town Arts Festival, an event showcasing arts and crafts by artists inspired by Japanese entertainment. The name change is in response to the change in focus of JTAF from an anime convention to an event that focuses on the appreciation of arts and crafts inspired by the Japanese entertainment. The convention that was formerly known as “JTAF” or “Japantown Anime Faire” is now known as “Otaku Amusement Festival” and will be managed by Project 760 Productions.
“Japan Town Arts Festival hopes to offer the public an opportunity to experience the talent of artists ranging from sketch artists to masters of the needle and thread,” says Ray Nagar, Chief Organizer of the Japan Town Arts Festival. “We hope that this event is beneficial to the artists who would like to showcase their work and to the Japantown area, which has been one of the key locations in promoting Japanese popular culture to the Bay Area.”
Project 760 Productions is negotiating with the Japantown area on the dates and locations of Japan Town Arts Festival and intends to host the event as early as December 2008. Registration fees for artists' spaces at the Festival will start as low as $60 for the weekend for a space. Fees for table and chair rental will be assessed for participants who request them. Japan Town Arts Festival will be free to the public to attend and visitors are welcome to dress up as their favorite anime, manga and video game character. In addition, JTAF Volunteer and Staff signups are currently being accepted for each division. Inquiries about the convention can be handled via e-mail at info@project760.net . A MySpace Info page has been established for JTAF attendees at http://www.myspace.com/jtaf .

PROJECT 760 PRODUCTIONS RENAMES JTAF ANIME CONVENTION, 2009 DATES ANNOUNCED
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 1, 2008) - Project 760 Productions, the organizers for JTAF, announces the name change of Japantown Anime Faire (also known as JTAF) to Otaku Amusement Festival. The JTAF Acronym will continue to be used to refer to Project 760's upcoming event called Japan Town Arts Festival, an event showcasing arts and crafts by artists inspired by Japanese entertainment. The name change is in response to the convention's migration from the Japantown area of San Francisco to the Fort Mason Center complex in San Francisco's Marina district.
“Otaku Amusement Festival reflects the purpose of the convention, which is to keep the fans entertained,” says Ray Nagar, Chief Director of the Otaku Amusement Festival. “The name change also gives us an opportunity to explore other forms of entertainment outside of the anime realm, including music and Asian-American media. We also hope to continue to provide the events that JTAF attendees have come to know and love.”
The 2009 Otaku Amusement Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 14-15, 2009 at Fort Mason Center. Early Attendee Pre-Registration prices start at $15/Single Day and $25/Weekend and include admission to musical performances and dealer's area. Weekend Dealer's Rates for tables start at $200 per booth space. Rates for children under the age of 13 are also available. These rates are applicable until January 31st, 2009. In addition, Volunteer and Staff signups for Otaku Amusement Festival are currently being accepted for each division. Inquiries about the convention can be handled via e-mail at info@project760.net .
