El trabajo que estoy haciendo ahora, conceptualmente es la utilizacion de elementos sonoros que
invaden mi vida (llamadas de telefono, la videoconsola de mi hija, la balanza que me dice por las mañanas mi peso, juguetes que emiten mensajes, las voces de llamada en los trenes y aeropuertos, viejas calculadoras parlantes, mensajes sonoros que me llegan a mi email etc etc).Aparte de los contenidos de estos mensajes, que yo manipulo y descontextualizo, me interesa el timbre,(ese pequeño altavoz, que hace de soporte y le da una textura muy especial a los sonidos, en una bajisima calidad) el estilo es una mezcla de jazz, electronica, rock, arte conceptual...

I..m at present developing the following project: conceptually I use sound elements that I listen in my daylife like telephone ring, my daughter..s playstation, my weight-scale, toys that talk, Stations and Airports megaphony, old talking calculaters, e-mail messages with noise, and so on….. I..m interested not just on the contents of these messages, which I manipulate but on the noise (that little laudspeaker which suports and gives a special texture to the sound in a very low quality).
The final result becomes a mixture of jazz, electronics, rock, conceptual art and so on….
Nace en Tenerife. Estudia música estructural con Juan Hidalgo y jazz con Luis Vecchio, aunque su formación musical es básicamente autodidacta. También es licenciado en Filosofía Pura.
Comienza a publicar a principio de los 80 .En 1982 sale "Arte Moderno"(Ninette in N.Y.).Luego en 1983 grabaria su primer L.P. en solitario "Juan Belda" para la compañia G.A.S.A.-DRO.Esta musica formaria parte del concierto multimedia"Moviles" representandose en el "Festival Internacional de Tarrega", Madrid
(sala Astoria, Centro cultural de la villa),Estrasburgo(fetival joven de vanguardia),Amsterdan,Las Palmas(Teatro guiniguada),Tenerife(La granja),Valencia etc..
Su segundo L.P."Pasion" 1988 tambien para la compañia G.A.S.A.-DRO,es interpretado en directo, con un importante despliege audiovisual en colaboracion con Jorge Deniz.
Luego vendrian actuaciones de musica electronica en solitario e instalaciones en galerias de arte(Art Futura,Festival de Musica Visual de Lanzarote,Espacio P,El Tanque,Fundacion Jorge Castillo,Circulo de bellas artes de madrid,Arco etc...)
En el año 1994 viaja a India y realiza para"RTVEMUSICA"un trabajo sobre encantadores de serpientes,producido por La Fundacion Jorge Castillo.En 1996 con Juan Gomez-Acebo, abren el estudio de grabacion"Fonoelastica"(madrid).En el 98 produce y toca en el c.d. de P.K.D.A.
"I amm"."Work in Progres" junto a "La Fura dels Baus" concierto-instalacion atravez de r.s.d.i. Madrid, Barcelona, Cardiff.Es productor y compositor de la banda WAX BEAT(Lavas Lamp, Go outside&play, waxbeat III).En 1999 junto a Juan Gomez-Acebo produciran y compondran la musica del c.d. ¨Etnotronics¨(colaboran Benjamin,Amparanoia,M. Ferrer,Macaco,Wax Beat,Basque Dub Fundation,M. Procesor).
En el 2000 viaja a Kenia y realiza para Nemoart un c.d. de musica Massai llamado"Sound Stone".Entre el 2005 y 2007 publicara para Discos Necesarios"Desde el Hierro" " Wine lounge vol1"y ¨Transfixiones¨(con Hugo Westerdhal),y produce el c.d. de Ulises Pistolo "Musica de las Esferas".
En el 2006 crea "Juan Belda Bit Band" junto a Jorge Pardo, Juanjo Orti,Yago Salorio,Epi lorente,Enrico Barbaro y Ulises Pistolo
En el 2008 sale su ultimo trabajo para Discos Necesarios "I Love You¡¡¡" en colaboracion con Jorge Pardo y Juanjo Orti, es presentado en Berlin(popkomm),Tenerife(el sauzal), Madrid(feria stampa,en fluido rosa radio3),Manchester(euroculted festival) etc...Tambien compone musica para Ballet,Teatro,Cine,TV etc...
ABOUT JUAN BELDA
He was born in Tenerif. He studied structural music with Juan Hidalgo and jazz with Luis Vecchio although his musical training is basicly self-taught. He is also holder of a litentiate on philosophy. He..s got an extensive and diversive work and he..s already a classician on vanguard and electronic music in Spain.
He began publishing at the beginning of the 80s. In 1982 he published “Arte Moderno” (Ninette in N.Y.). Then in 1983 he recorded his first L.P. all by himself “Juan Belda” for the record company G.A.S.A.-DRO. This music would be part of the multimedia concert “Móviles” represented at “Festival Internacional de Tárrega”, Madrid (Sala Astoria, Centro Cultural de la Villa), Estrasburgo (Festival Joven de Vanguardia), Amsterdam, Las Palmas (Teatro Guinguada), Tenerife (La Granja), Valencia and so on.
His second L.P. “La Pasión” was recorded in 1988 also by G.A.S.A.-DRO, was live played, spreading out an audiovisual show in collaboration with Jorge Deniz.
Afterwoods he played concerts of electronic music all by himself and developed instalations in art galleries (Art Futura, Festival de Música Visual de Lanzarote, Espacio P, El Tanque, Fundación Jorge Castillo, Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, ARCOand so on).
In 1994 he travelled to India and developed for “RTVEMUSICA” a project about charming serpeants, produced by Fundación Jorge Castillo.
In 1996 he opened the recording studio “Fonoelástica” in Madrid with his partner Juan Gómez-Acebo.
In 1998 he produced and played in the P.K.D.A...s CD “I amm”, “Work in Progress” together with “La Fura Dels Baus” Concert & Installation through R.S.D.I in Madrid, Barcelona and Cardiff.
He was producer and composer of WAX BEAT band (Lavas Lamp, Go outside & play and WaxBeat III).
In 1999 he together to Juan Gómez-Acebo produced and composed the CD “Etnotronics” (with the collaboration of Benjamin, Amparanoia, M.Ferrer, Macaco, Wax Beat, Basque Dub Foundation and M.Procesor).
In 2000 he travelled to Kenia and developed for Nemoart a massai musical CD called “Sound Stone”.
Betweeen 2005 and 2007 he published for Discos Necesarios “Desde El Hierro”, “Wine Lounge, vol1” and “Transfixiones” (with Hugo Westerdahl), and produced the CD of Ulises Pistolo “Música de las Esferas”.
In 2006 he created “Juan Belda Bit Band” together with Jorge Pardo, Juanjo Ortí, Yago Salorio, Epi Lorente,Enrico Barbaro and Ulises Pistolo.
In 2008 he launches his last project for Discos Necesarios “I love you¡¡¡” collaborating with Jorge Pardo and Juanjo Ortí, has been presented in Berlin (Popkomm), Tenerif (El Sauzal),Manchester(euroculted Festival) Madrid (Feria Stampa, Fluido Rosa de Radio3)etc...
At present he also composes music for ballet, theatre, cinema and television.
