  • Packer fan by birth (I am a Wisconsinite, after all).
  • Computers, since I've been a netizen since 1994, thanks to Exec-PC; owner of several computers, from a Mac SE to a Mac LC to a Performa 6360, two generations of iBooks, a Compaq Presario tower, two Gateway computers (okay, actually three, but I don't count my dad's tower as one), and my wife's Presario laptop.

  • 音樂

I'm kinda all over the place musically. Mostly pop, some country and contemporary Christian.

An example is the last six CD's I purchased:
  • "Straight Outta Lynwood", Weird Al Yankovic
  • "The Open Door", Evanescence
  • "Wreck Of The Day", Anna Nalick
  • "Breakaway", Kelly Clarkson
  • "Here For The Party", Gretchen Wilson
  • "Flyleaf" (extended Digital LP), Flyleaf

    My top five favorite songs:
  • "Baby Baby" by Amy Grant
  • "Revolution" by the Beatles
  • "Can't Fight This Feeling" by REO Speedwagon
  • "Good For Me" by Amy Grant
  • "Twist And Shout" by the Beatles

Five songs I've got on my XM Radio's TuneSelect:
  • "Beverly Hills" by Weezer
  • "Walk Away" by Kelly Clarkson
  • "Call Me When You're Sober" by Evanescence
  • "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance
  • "Paralyzer" by Finger 11

I've been getting into Christian Contemporary Music again (thanks, Sarah!); here are the five I've just downloaded:
  • "Can't Go On", Group 1 Crew
  • "Flood", Jars of Clay
  • "Slow Fade", Casting Crowns
  • "Revelation", Third Day
  • "Today Is The Day", Lincoln Brewster

  • 電影

Not really into movies, but the most recent one I've seen was worth it: Walk The Line, the biopic of Johnny Cash with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.

My favorite all-time movie is Silver Streak" (featuring Gene Wilder, Jill Clayburgh and Richard Pryor). A close second is Foul Play with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase.

  • 電視

If the only television stations I could get were ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic and ESPNews, I could live. (I'm a bit bummed out that ESPN Classic is no longer on basic cable, though.)

I do occasionally tune in reruns of CSI (Las Vegas), mostly since it's my line of work and I get into how they solve the cases. In recent seasons, though, it's gotten a bit over the top. The Buried Alive season finale from 2007 was when they jumped the shark, IMO.

Other than that, my TV's only on when there's a game on, or something interesting is on the History Channel or the Travel Channel. Once in a while I'll watch stuff on HGTV, and Mythbusters on Discovery.

And no, I'm not a fan of "Poker Stars" or any of the other Poker "tournament" shows on cable. They're about as exciting as watching paint dry.

  • 書籍

    Latest books I've read:
  • "Left Behind" by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins
  • "The DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown
  • "Overcoming Life's Disappointments" by Harold S. Kushner
  • "Baseball in Beertown" by Todd Mishler
  • "Religious Literacy" by Stephen Prothero
  • "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" by Judith Viorst
  • "Hockey - A People's History" by Michael McKinley

    我想認識:

For a long time, there was a name on this list that I never thought would actually come about.

Funny thing about that: when you least expect it, something you want to have happen - does.

It was after the first Predators game of 2005 in Nashville, the home opener against San Jose on October 5 - the night before my birthday.

Afterwards, me and a friend of mine were headed downstairs to the autograph "section" in the basement.

As we were waiting for clearance to go downstairs, she walked by us.

Now, something I need to say here to set things up: during the game, they showed a close-up of her hubby on the jumbotron at the GEC.

She took that opportunity to give him a huge, sloppy, overdone kiss.

So what do you think my first words to the lady who I've admired for years and years, listened to her songs, and have longed to meet and talk to her, were?

    "Nice kiss, Amy."

    Yeah, it was Amy Grant.

I did the fandom stuff - asked for her autograph and all that.

It was the end of a perfect night, and I bet she never knew.
