..Using my brain for good rather than evil; spending time with great people; spending time ALONE; drinking Italian wine and eating Italian food; taking long baths in water so hot I sweat for two hours afterwards; great music; dark chocolate with chili pepper; photography (I took my background pic); reading; Murano glass jewelry from my friend Matteo's store in Venice; avoiding drama, dirty dogs who sniff crotches and/or drool all over, cigarette smoke, and people who make me feel bad.
Music
..Dixie Chicks, James Taylor, Green Day, The Wreckers, Etta James, Kathy Mattea, Allison Krauss, Apollo Sunshine, Visqueen, Kate Havnevik, Motion City Soundtrack, Neko Case, Patti Loveless, Amy Winehouse, Paper Airplane Pilots, Cake, Paved Country, Barenaked Ladies, Counting Crows, R.E.M., The Hollyfelds, Ella Fitzgerald, Phil Vassar, Wilco, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Jude, Bright Eyes, Low Stars, Dappled Cities Fly, pretty much anything that chills me out or lifts me up or makes me want to dance.
Movies
..Love Actually; 13 Going On 30; The Red Violin; Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood; Silence of the Lambs; Lost in Translation; Hero; Office Space; Princess Bride; anything that makes me think or makes me laugh.
Television
..I am ashamed to say that I have started watching TV back here in America. Did you know that CSI and CSI Miami are on, like, 12 times a day? I got sucked into the new Project Runway because one of the contestants has the same scarf that I bought in Florence. My aunt watches Oprah every day while she gives the kitty lap-time, so I watch that, too, if I'm home. And anything on HGTV doesn't really count as TV-watching, since it's more like research for our new house, right?
Books
..Traveling Mercies and Plan B by Anne Lamott; Confessions of a Slacker Mom by Muffy Mead-Ferro; One Thousand Chestnut Trees by Mira Stout; A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers; A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving; Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver; anything by Rick Steves! :) I read a LOT so this is just a small section from my "favorites" shelf.
Heroes
..People who are kind even when they're crabby; intelligent people who are happy; artists who are functional in society; great mothers who are also great people; people who live their dreams without letting it get to their head. My (maternal) Grandpa Earl for being tough and my (paternal) Grandma Lois for being loving.

What is more fun than trying to sum yourself up and present yourself to the world in one little paragraph? Blech!
That said, I've been married to Jason, my husband and best friend, for seven and a half years. We are starting the second phase of our lives now! After spending the past nine years in the Air Force (the last three in Italy) Jason got out in September and got a job in Northern Virginia. We're simultaneously adjusting to life back in the States, out of the Air Force, and as new homeowners! We're excited about exploring a part of the country we've never lived in before, having our own home, and Jason loving his job for the first time in a long time! There is a lot we miss, too, but we're good at focusing on the positive... and it's especially easy when there's so much to look forward to! :)
I'm mainly on MySpace to reconnect with friends from high school and college, and to stay in touch with our military friends since we are all over the world at this point!
What I've been up to for the past bunch of years:
1998--Graduated from the University of Puget Sound and hooked up with and moved with one of my best friends to Las Vegas. Got engaged on Thanksgiving weekend at the Grand Canyon--funny boy Jason says, "I figured if she said no I could just push her in." :) I worked at the Bellagio Resort & Casino the whole time we were in Vegas.
2000--Got married on March 25th, honeymooned on Kauai, Hawaii!
2001--Moved to Dayton, Ohio so Jason could go to grad school. I worked for a city planning and teaching adult recreation education classes.
2003--Jason graduated with a Masters' in Environmental Engineering Management and I received a double Masters in Patience and Being a Great Wife When Your Uber-Procrastinator Husband is in Grad School and is a Pain in the Ass. :P They have a lot of the same coursework, as you can imagine. Jason moved to South Korea and I moved back to Oregon to be close to friends and family. I visited him twice, for a month each time. South Korea was crazy and beautiful and a major challenge. We would go back in a heartbeat... if we could go together!
2004--We both moved to Italy in May, which was the whole reason he went to South Korea in the first place. We had a BLAST living in Europe and traveled all over: Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, France, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Turkey, Egypt and of course throughout Italy. Some favorite highlights: Oktoberfest in Munchen (Munich); a weekend trip on moto to Croatia where I had my child-bearing future told by a 90-year-old Crotian/Italian who hand-makes lace while watching television with the zipper on her pants undone (I'm not telling what she foretold!); a motorcycle trip to Rome, Naples, and Sicily; backpacking through the Chianti region in Tuscany; ski weekends in Northern Italy; an Eastern European summer tour; Christmas in Prague; Carnivale in Venice; every single day of little cafes and church bells ringing and old ladies riding bicycles. I loved living in Europe, if you couldn't tell. :)
2007--In September Jason got out of the Air Force and we moved to northern Virginia for his job. We bought a house and are busy making it "ours." We miss Italy tremendousy but are adapting pretty well to life back in the States!

You are 100% Oregon
Congratulations! You are a native Oregonian. Pick up your honorary singing salmon plaque at City Hall.
Hey Cameron. How are things going? Have been thinking about you cuz I have to host a 12 hour long crop, you'd be way better at it than I will be. =P Do you have any ideas of what I can teach? =) Miss ya girl!!!!
Hey Girl, I was just thinking about you because I found out that I am pregnant again and I don't have anyone to pick me up and throw me on the ground this time! Miss you!
Hey Cam! I know, I'm slacking on the preggo pictures--I swear my ass is spreading faster than any other part of me but my weight gain is steady and I am right on track to have a healthy pregnancy. I'm five months and a week, we've picked a name, and we're having our first baby shower next week in San Antonio. New house, no snow yet here in Denver... life is good!
How are things? Were you ever able to find your dream job of being paid to sip coctails, be creative and discuss life with like minded, intelligent females?? :)
Happy birthday Cameron. I miss ya girl!! Was thinking about you the other day, and wondering if you've been driving around in your cute little cinquecento.
Hey! I was just stopping by to say hi and then I noticed the persons default picture below me.... I bought the same exact pair of Chinese Laundry shoes at Macy's! lol, but anyways... how are you?!
Hey Cam, it took me a while to get back to you in the midst of so much, but I wanted to say thanks for the well wishes and all of that. How has everything been in your world? Hope your days are adventure filled and full of smiles. :)
