Television
Samurai Champloo
Which Samurai Champloo Character Are You? brought to you by Quizilla
I am Jin! (Heh, who else is cooler, eh?) The music in this series blows me away. If a series grabs me, it must have great music! Japanese hiphop is very cool.
LEXX
The crew of The LEXX. (L to R: Kai of The Brunnen-G, Xev of B3TK, and Stan the Man, Captain of The Lexx. Another series (and movies) with spectacular music, courtesy of Marty Simon and Andre Haines.
Jin and Kai are the same fellow, really. Tall, dark, don't say much, mysterious, poetic, and sometimes romantic. AND BOTH CAN CHOP YOU INTO LITTLE TEENIE PIECES!!! Heh. Got to admit, the violence thing is a bit of a turn on. But then, the quiet logical attitude is all Spock/Data, don't you think? Weird.
Boston Legal
CSI: Crime Scene Investigations
Grissom Rules.
Ren and Stimpy
House - Hugh Laurie (what talent!)
Family Guy
Stewie Should Take Over The World!
South Park
Poor Kenny...
Antiques Roadshow
The Keno Brothers are cool.
Any old Star Trek
Just look at this. Girls, tell me you can resist this!
Nice eh? Shatner, Shatner, Shatner. What more do I have to say?
Whatever's on AMC
Whatever's on TMC
Myth Busters
Dirty Jobs
The old Addam's Family series
Who doesn't love the Addams Family?
Battlestar Galactica, for the veteran actors who are doing such a fine job:
Oh, and Inside the Actor's Studio (Of Course.)
Books
Anything Tolkien. Anything STOS. Anything by Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, or W. Somerset Maugham.
Heroes
My 2nd grade librarian, Mrs. Cunningham. Got me reading and I haven't stopped yet.
Jeremy Brett: For fabulous acting in the face of bipolar disorder.
The Shat, for continuing to work though he's prolly wearing Depends by now.
(Lorne Greene and the Shat doing summer rep Shakespeare.
Jeff Hardy, Bass Player and Vocalist who sadly died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. He was tall, handsome as the Angel Gabriel, and sang like one, too.
Though I didn't know him well, I saw him play many, many times, and had the good fortune to spend a day cooking with him. My thoughts go out to his wife and children. We will all miss "Moose".
And just because there's not a spot for favorite actors, I'm making one below:
Sir Derek Jacobi - for making Shakespeare easy to understand.
Peter O'Toole - for that scared, screwed-up look, his wonderfully emotion-filled eyes, and perfect diction.
John Hurt. He's terribly talented, has a voice like sandpaper, and amazes me with his work to this day.
Greg Peck - for showing that a man can be noble no matter what. Ir...and for his increadibly good looks.
And last, but very important to me:
Sir Robert Stephens, who had a voice worth more than all the gold in Fort Knox...and one of the greatest and most under-rated acting talents on the planet.
And here are a few more for good measure:
Nicol Williamson, even though he's been drunk all the time and beats up on his fellow actors. Hope you recover soon, Nicol, we want you back.
Ciaran Hinds, who has recently completed Rome
Jeremy Irons - WINNER! SAG Award for BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR in Elizabeth
Gabriel Byrne - We never see enough of him!
Sir Anthony Hopkins, who graces everything that he's in.
I always wanted to be a sweetner. (That's an old term for a background orchestra that provided the gushy music for movies and television series.) Instead my college buddies dragged me into rock n' roll, kicking and screaming. Who knew I'd like it?
About me:
General suburban eclectic musician with scifi tastes and anime dreams.
Learning to become a writer.
Outdoorsy and somewhat solitary.
Love Tolkien, hate soap operas.
Master of small repairs.
Medievalist/English Civil War Campfollower.
Find me in your local library sifting through the medicinal herbology section.
Punk librarian.
Wannabe Dominatrix.
Sick, SICK sense of humor.
Computer geek.
Dreamer.
Who I'd like to meet: Don't laugh. William Shatner. 'Cause I continue to be a Star Trek freak and will prolly never get it out of my system.
Who else? David Bowie. For a sit down and a cuppa.
Alan Rickman. Perhaps a shopping spree, and a quick lunch. Think he'd be good company.
Okay, note the age of all these guys? Yeah. Can't seem to find the young'uns atractive anymore. They all seem outtah my league.
Oh, yes - Paul McGann. Now there's a good man with great talent.
Ralph Fiennes is another fav of mine. Right up there with McGann. in fact, the two would make a great double-date..for me, alone! *cough, ahem.*
Hmmm... James Spader. Very sweet. He's aging gracefully.
Don't forget Christopher Walken! He can cook, ladies....
Gary Sinise - for his acting before CSI: NY. He's an actor more suited for the big screen and stage acing rather than TV. (*cough* Sorry, Gary!)
Now put all those guys together and you'd have a great party.
;)
As for women? Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman. I think they've done very well in their field.
Woops, these are all actors and musicians. Possibly because I come from an artsy background? Maaaaaaybeeee....!
I'm always open to learning new things about the theatre, music, acting, dancing, painting and art of all types.
Oh, and don't forget, if you'd like to chat, email me here and ask for my AIM!
I was looking at your page and noticed a small typo. It seems that your finger slipped off the 3 and landed on the 4 by mistake when you were typing in your age so it reads 43 instead of 33 like it should. I think you should fix that...have a great week Billy
They demolished the original, but the same owner opened up a new Irish on Merrick Road in Baldwin, across from the Venice Inn. I went in there opening night an Jimmy Buckets was working!!!!!!!!! Have to meet up sometime,I've been itchin to go to the Blue Point Brewery for a pint!
My profile now has vast amounts of Star Trek information about joining the official Starfleet Command. Just click on any of the banners "pictures" and they will take you directly to that link. It's that easy with no copying and pasting. If you are 21 or older you might consider joining Barfleet which is the wild party side of the Star Trek clubs. There are 4 places to click on to get an application to join the Official Starfleet Command: my blog contains an application or click on any of the three pictures of ( big circle with Starfleet Command logo), ( Starfleet Command Uncle Sam) or (tricorder with applications next to it). They will bring up a PDF file. Just copy it, fill it out and mail it in. I also have many Star Trek conventions listed. Again, just click on the banner (picture) and it will take you to that site. This is a video with my fellow crew member of the USS Endeavour. It shows us at different events. I'm in it at several points and if you watch closely, you'll see me portraying Data next to a Vulcan who is now our ship's captain.
P.S. I would be forever grateful if you would add me to your top friends list.
Live long and prosper! CDR Gary Barclay Chief Security Officer USS Endeavour & First Officer Starbase 06
