Kai Limberger, born in 1979 in heidelberg/germany, made first contact with electronic music in a more
or less unintended way. he took his first steps in making music at an early age. as a child, he played
the electric guitar but that did not completely fill out his desires. later, at the age of 14 he was exposed
to electronic music for the first time at a friends house, where he and some older friends were listening
to the hr3 clubnight radio. this resulted in a visit at the club omen in frankfurt, the place were he
became eagerly interested to this kind of music. that..s how everything started!
being fascinated by the music and the djing thing he got his first equipment in 1994 and so made his first steps in producing music. soon after he developed the verve to experiment with sounds and to try out different techniques, what consequently resulted in generating own sounds.
after a few months he got a residency in a club in heidelberg were he and a friend played their sound every weekend from then on.
in 1998 Kai started to perform more often in other cities in germany but also abroad. in the year 2001/2002 Kai decided to pause djing because of some family business he had to take care of. in 2005 he wanted to go on with what he started. he began to play his music in germany and abroad again… much more frequently than before.
in 2007 Kai became a official resident dj at the well known "plus+" club in heidelberg. since 2008 he is also working for the scene magazine named "subculture" and runs his own two record labels (gymnastique & avancee) with two close friends.
most of the time you can find Kai in his studio where he is searching for new sounds.
to specify his sound is a challenge. you will find some harmonic surface but also the tough-minded groove. his sets include a lot of loops and playful passages, which often make everybody smile!
