Kaka, aka Richard Karlsson, sings “it’s a longshot, but we just have to try” in one of his songs which gives a very good idea of who he is. He’s been through the whole “band” thing twice already and been successful at that. Now he felt that it was time to take a leap of faith and try his own wings.

Kaka started his musical career as a guitarist, singer and songwriter in the indie band The Tambureens in the late 90’s. (members of that band later went on and formed another successful Swedish band called Melody Club) After The Tambureens went separate ways Kaka joined forces with a group called The Mo. The Mo toured frequently over Sweden, Europe and even played SXSW in the US and were always celebrated as an extremely energetic liveband. They released two albums and reached their highest commercial success with the song “Nostalgia Locomotive” that peaked at the no.1 position on the Swedish single chart. Kaka wrote material continuously during this period and eventually he decided to leave The Mo. After one and a half year of recording Kaka’s album is finally finished and is being released in the beginning of 2009 in the UK by the Stockholm based label Despotz Records.
