Despite KANATRAN was formed in the late 90's by Omar Aranda (guitars & programming) and José Joaquín Vallejo (drums), releasing a demo (Un Golpe Bajo Para Chile), an EP (EP6), a couple of video clips, and even being included in the soundtrack of the movie "Angel Negro", it wasn't until 2001/2002 when they recorded and released their debut album "Ojo Invisible", that the band startd to work as a unit with a solid line-up, including Ivan Muñoz on vocals, Slavian Kuzmanic on keyboards and Francisco Martín on bass. The "Ojo Invisible" album marked the breaking point of KANATRAN and got them very good reviews by the press in Latin America and Spain. This album also gave them the chance to play live intensively and to inlcude the song "Nueva Sangre" in the soundtrack of the Vampire's movie "Eternal Blood". The song "Nueva Sangre" also became a video clip and was included as well on a free compilation CD, sponsored by one of Chile's best selling beers' companies. That compilation CD was given away, promoted and advertised heavily by the brand, and brought as a result a huge free promotion for KANATRAN. The band then got one of the local most well-known artist's manager to handle their career, and that fact help them a lot to keep on playing live quite often. By mid 2003, Omar Aranda and Ivan Muñoz, the main song writers, started working on new stuff for a second album. These new compositions were the first ones produced as a steady band, as the songs included in the "Ojo invisible" were written durning many different incarnations of KANATRAN, even counting with a different singer and bass player when starting the recording process. Before recording any demos for the new album, Slavian Kuzmanic left KANATRAN as he was relocating in Mexico and later on in Spain. Late 2003, early 2004 the band started to record their new album at 15Hz studio. Keyboards and programming duties were handled by Ivan Muñoz and Omar Aranda for the recordings. For live duties the band got the services of hired keyboardists, most significant David Santander, former Aldea Roja. By the second half of 2004, the band released the mini album "Mártyr". It included three new songs; "Martir", "Below" and "Víctimas", and Depeche Mode's "Strange Love" ", plus the video clip of "Nueva Sangre" as multimedia bonus. Just eight months after (in May 2005) after the release of "Mártyr", KANATRAN disbanded mostly because if inner turbulence and frustration generated by inappropriate management. All of the band members started new projects. Early 2007 saw the band members getting in contact with each other again and playing one reunion gig in April. Nowadays KANATRAN are working on the stuff they left half cooked in the studio and are planning to release their second album during 2011. .... .... ...... ....
