Kanda is akina and arland nicewander. We started in New York and now live in Portland with our totally sweet-ass dog, Jackson. We released our first 7" single and full length on the notorious 555 label. Our first releases were produced by bobby and andrew of New York based band, Mahogany. We owe those two geniuses big time.
After the release of our first CD, we went on a super fun tour of North America with Boyracer (fuzz pop legends and some of the raddest people known to man - big style). After the tour we found ourselves in the OC for awhile and then got married in Las Vegas with Elvis and Sammy Davis Jr (he took our pictures).
Now in Portland, we hang out in the rain with our friends and have played some really great shows. Our new CD is now out on Boptart Records of Seattle. Boptart is owned and operated by Mr. Lindsey Baker (check out his myspace site: http://myspace.com/boptartrecords). The new CD was produced by James Nixon, who we also owe big time.
The new full-length album from Arms and Sleepers is available now!
Featuring guest appearances by Tom Brosseau & Shelley Short, Ben Shepard & Catherine Worsham of Uzi & Ari, Philip Jamieson of Caspian, Mona Elliott of Travels, Adam Arrigo of The Main Drag, and Matt Lajoie of Cursillistas!
Hello Kanda! I'm sure you don't remember me at all but I'm friends with Jen & Stew. You all crashed at my friends house is Cincinnati when you were on tour with them. I think Jesse and I saw you play about 4 shows that tour. Well anyway these last two posts are for shows we are playing soon. I hope you can make it to one of them. I'm not sure what you all are doing musically now a days but maybe we could play a show. I can't wait to hear the collaboration with Jen & Stew. Take care -->Justin!
Phoenix (my daughter) was sooo happy when I showed her that you sent a comment. That made her week! Also, thanks for the compliment on the bike.......the kid and I take it out and stroll about as often as possible. Cheers and thanks for such great music!
