Red Dog is a new dance music experience, featuring Katie Pickard, a multi-talented jazz saxophonist. All tracks are written and produced by Katie herself, working with some of London's best up and coming producers. Katie has been playing music since the age of 9, beginning with classical violin and piano, moving on to the sax, baritone sax, percussion, and now the double bass. She has also sung in many theatrical musicals, as well as acting lead roles and working on film sets. She has worked professionally in theatre design and costume, and studied art at university. Her love for jazz developed at this stage, and she began to study the form intensely over several years. On moving to Greece, Katie was caught up performing within major clubs with singers and DJs, working also with producers from Sweden. On returning to London she set up KTjazz, which performs Jazz in venues all over the UK internationally. Her love for dance, however has continued unabated. Major influences include KLF, Groove Armada, Faithless, Kosheen Moby and Dido. She has a real love for harmony and melody, as well as an addiction for a sense of spaciousness and good rhythm. In her music you can hear classical, jazz and dance styles. She composes and plays all of the melodies and instruments herself, writes all the lyrics, as well as including some great riffs introduced especially by producer Theo Gordon. Katie's debut jazz album "Whatever" was released in the UK in October 2007 and her first dance CD is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2008. Katie is currently performing regularly in London and in 2007 toured as a solo artist in Hong Kong, Thailand, the United States, France and Italy.
