From techno to trance to harder edge parties K.A.R.L. is a dj and producer who commands the respect and support of leading promotions and fellow djs alike.
K.A.R.L.’s rise in prominence as a respected dj and producer has resulted in regular guest appearances at a whole host of cutting edge and forward thinking promotions, parties and events including The Gallery at Turnmills where he has not only closed the infamous main room following Sister Bliss, Remy, Ozgur Can and Perry O Neil; but also brought his sound to future talent promotion Vaccine and its pick of the best UK talent in late 2007 appearing on the bill alongside the likes of Paul Oakenfold and a plethora of future greats.
In early 2008 he was invited to showcase his Elektrotek brand with K.A.R.L. playing a three hour set at Sander van Doorn’s UK album launch party appearing alongside the likes of not only Sander but also Pedro Delgardo and Gleave.
No stranger to playing for a wide range of promotions and venues; K.A.R.L. cemented his reputation with several now legendary appearances for Party Proactive and the 070707 Antiworld festival providing peak time and warm up sets alongside and for a range of truly international and wide ranging djs such as Christopher Lawrence, Marco Bailey, DJ Preach, Marco Nastic, Andy Farley, Eskimo, Filterheadz, John Askew, Yves Deruyter and Dave Angel among others.
Other notable appearances in the already long list of clubs and promotions that have been treated to the K.A.R.L. effect include world renowned venues such as Heaven, Koko and the Shepherds Bush Empire whilst further afield has included bookings both in 2006 and 2007 in Ibiza for the likes of Vaccine and Tidy vs Extreme Euphoria at venues such as Eden and Es Paradis.
K.A.R.L.’s production credentials are rapidly beginning to mirror that of his dj appearances with his diverse range of musical influences resulting in a successful string of original productions and remixes. K.A.R.L. continues to showcase his sound through regularly re-editing tracks and material he receives, to his taste and even putting together special mash-ups and bootlegs only to be heard in his dj sets.
2008 saw K.A.R.L.'s first solo tracks 'Dark Descent' and 'Konami' gain support from the likes of Marco V, Martin Roth, M.I.K.E, Mandy Reid, Andy Moor, Nick Riley, Fred Baker and Pedro Delgardo amongst others, and 'Dark Descent' was played on Radio One by Dave Pearce on his Dance Anthems show and Ernesto & Bastian featured it 2 weeks on the trot on their radio show on Liquid FM.
May 2009 saw K.A.R.L. make his Ministry of Sound debut, closing the bar for Elektrik Playground @ The Gallery alongside Chris Lake, Riley & Durrant & Koto. And with more studio work in progress, 2009 looks set to be another big year for K.A.R.L.

Astrix returns to the UK for his most ambitious tour yet. On Fri 30 January he makes his debut at Bgham’s Q Club alongside local legend Sabretooth, who’ll be launching his new album, and Dejavoo live. Then on the Sat he’s following in the footsteps of dance music greats Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Infected, taking on one of the world’s top venues, the o2’s incredible Indigo. As well as playing a live set of upfront tracks from his forthcoming third album ‘Red Means Distortion’ — and of course all the classic tracks that have kept him in the DJ Magazine Top 50 for the third year running — he’ll be launching new digital EP ‘One Step Ahead’, a limited edition multi-media production available on USB stick only. He’ll also be bringing along HOMmega label mates X-noiZe, Krunch and Delirious, who’ll be joined by the Antiworld residents. With X-noiZe and Krunch launching their new albums ‘Wheel of Misfortune’ and ‘Booster’, this promises to be one of THE psy trance events of 2009. The credit crunch is hitting everyone hard and we know you want to party more than ever… so we’re keeping advance ticket prices as low as we can.
