Faded Glamour's Blurbs |
About me:
Greetings. If you read this, you still use MySpace. I pretty much stopped using it a year ago. Anyways, I run an mp3 blog called Faded Glamour which I launched in May 2006 because I had nothing to do until I ventured to university. Well, except it was called Keep Hope Inside back then. In 2007, I branched into podcasting, which is basically like the radio but better. Faded Glamour showcases the best new artists around and also some of the more underrated, journeyman bands who haven't achieved the success they deserve.
I like to think of the blog as...err...Popjustice meets XFM? The emphasis is admittedly largely on new unsigned British acts - some of the acts I've mentioned have since gone onto sign fancy record deals, such as Cajun Dance Party, I Was A Cub Scout and These New Puritans - but more seasoned artists such as The National, Mark Ronson and the Manic Street Preachers have also featured on the blog. It's not all about "indie" either, I've featured acts like The Riff Raff, Estelle, Riz MC etc and hope to have a wider variety of bands in the future. And even the likes of Girls Aloud make sporadic appearances/
If you'd like me to listen to your tracks, then just add me or message me politely. I always give bands a listen (eventually!), and if I like it, I'll probably get in touch about appearing on my blog or podcast. If I don't, I'll keep quiet - my blog's about celebrating music not trashing people for doing what they love doing.
If anyone has any suggestions for exciting new (or old!) bands I should write about or appear on my podcast then feel free to send me a message/email me at music[at]fadedglamour.co.uk
Cheers! Saam x
