Rockin’ My Blues Away - Asbury Park, 05/08/08 (video by Moira Horan)
Jersey Shore native Keith McCarthy has been writing, recording and performing original material since the age of 18. With his band The Works, McCarthy played such legendary venues as The Stone Pony while still in high school. Since then, he has continued to perform solo at small clubs and coffeehouses around the Shore, including several appearances at The Saint in Asbury Park. McCarthy cites a wealth of influences—Neil Young, Ian Hunter and the Rolling Stones to name a few—and one hears all this and more in his intimate, heartfelt lyrics and quavery tenor. Combining solid songwriting and passionate live performances, McCarthy is a rising star on the Shore music scene. - Lisa Iannucci

Jah mon, life just crazy. Lost the Manhattan job (thanks, Wall Street!), working overnights in Eatontown, also at OCC Fridays and Saturdays. Outside-o-that, been working on restoring Beachwood's history (including the downtown), and we're buying a cool old house in that same town, set to move in August 1st or so. Party at some point involving invitation to yourself for proposed party patronage (Sesame Street letter of the day - P).
