VISIT Keith Vance
Keith Vance
Acoustic-based alt songwriter Keith Vance hails from Willoughby, Ohio, and brings with him emotionally-charged music that opens itself up for free exploration by the listener. Melodies captivate the listener and intelligence gives the audience something to digest while soaking up the warmth of the songwriting.
-Dichotomies-
Music has a multiplicity of emotional faces – one, in fact, for every degree of human emotion on the soul’s spectrum. “Depending on the artist or type of music, it can make you feel happy, sad, excited, angry, relaxed or joyful.” Vance has a healthy respect for the depth of music and provides listeners with songs that embrace music’s profundity, offering not only entertainment but rich ideas and an expression of the human condition.
-What I Want to Hear-
If you’re not happy with your music, how can anyone else be? That’s the question Vance asks himself again and again during his creative process. He doesn’t believe in writing music that doesn’t make him happy. Only music in harmony with its creator can aspire to greatness and Vance’s music does more than aspire. “I make the music I would like to hear. If the music makes me feel something, then I must have done it right.”
-Life-
Vance is so able to write music to which people can relate simply because he draws his inspiration from the workaday world around us, touching on themes and ideas common to every person’s life. “I am inspired by friends and family, events that have happened to me or to a close one. I am inspired by my surroundings, my emotions. I am inspired by musicians who play what they feel.”
-The Artist at Work-
In his previous band, Vance opened for Brazil and also had the chance to play with Bear Vs. Shark. “It was amazing,” he declares. Vance is in the process of recording his new full-length CD. “I am recording the songs as I write them. My album ‘Stay the Same’ was written and recorded over a two year period, so it seems disconnected to me. This next album will be more cohesive.” He is currently working with A&R Select, the hottest indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
“Keith Vance is a truly ear-catching artist. His songs drive to the heart of the lives of all of us.” – A&R Select

Fuck yeah buddy. Congrats to you both. Milo huh? That's a kick ass name. I totally dig it. You'll have to let me see your baby shower list so I see what you guys did and didn't get so that I might contribute a lil somethin' somethin'.
Also... what the fuck happened to playing cards? we went all winter without a single game. I guess we'll have to setup a cookout or something and get everyone together.
Well ladies and gentlemen, the time has arrived. We are very excited to announce that Cellar Door Records will be releasing two albums simultaneously. On May 16th, 2008 at the Grog Shop we will be releasing the long awaited full length debut from The Frozen Hellsicles, titled: “Oh No Wait A Minute.” We will also be releasing the brand new full length from The Slow Blade, titled: “Kill the Lights.” Of course both bands will be performing that night along with special guests The Uncanny Xela. All three of these bands have a history with Cellar Door so this will be a very special night for us. Admission to the show is $10 and that gets you copies of BOTH cds. Show starts at 9pm sharp.
The Frozen Hellsicles album “Oh No Wait A Minute” was recorded and mixed by Todd Tobias (Guided By Voices, Robert Pollard) at Waterloo Studios in Kent and “Kill the Lights” by The Slow Blade was recorded by Keith Vance at home.
