About me:

Well first and foremost my most important accomplishment is being "Daddy" to Skye Lilly Shaefer my 3 yr old goddess of all that has ever been cute. Yes you will have to suffer through my daddy pics,and proud "father-isms" regularly dammit. AS FOR ME.... I am a life long Musician/Artist. If you were to cut me open, music would likely bleed out. I have been painting over the last few years, while not making music, please check some of my work out on this site. My recording career began with Atheist in 1987 (www.officialatheist.com) We were fortunate enough to do 3 records,tour the world from 1988 - 1993. Then in 1994 I started a new band called "Neurotica",and we proceeded to do 3 records, and had some success in the hard rock world, did a lot of touring, the high point being the 2002 "Ozzfest" Tour. Neurotica split after 8 years, just after that tour. I went on to reunite with Atheist in 2005, with the re-issuing of the Atheist Catalog via Relapse Records/Starrfactory. The band enjoys a huge resurgence in popularity, and influence in europe and the metal world in general, and we had an incredible run of festival appearances in GERMANY, FRANCE, ITALY, NORWAY, CZ REPUBLIC, GREECE AND OTHER countries.Atheist's "Unquestionable Presence" was inducted into DECIBEL MAGAZINE'S HALL OF FAME, and also chosen as one of the Top 20 death metal albums of all time! check out www.officialatheist.com for all the details on that! Also in 2005 completed a project called UNHEARD with my long time friend M.Callahan. We record a great melodic stoner rock record called ON MY WAY TO THE SUN We have not yet released it, but there are a few tracks at www.myspace.com/unheard. I was also a part of a project called BIG MACHINE www.myspace.com/bigmachine with AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson, it consisted of a group of songs written by him and Doug Kaye. I was just fortunate enough to be asked to come in and sing on the demo that would be shopped to labels. The results are broken bottle rock and roll that is rare to hear these days, brian's writing style is of course ICON like, and he just has a flare for that classic sound...does it sound like AC/DC HELL YES IT DOES, BUT... A 2007 version perhaps, and my vocals were more towards Bon's style than Brian's. Check it out, it's still unreleased but,It's quite a different version of "me" but... all the demo tracks sound good, check it out and report back please! In Aug 2007 Neurotica hit the stage again for the first time in 5 years, it felt great, the crowd was big, and so some more shows will now follow in Nov 2007. Check out www.myspace.com/neuroticarocks for details etc. I also own a smokeshop in lovely Sarasota, Florida called Kelly's Rock and Roll Smokeshop,(Formely "Phreakies" and "Kiss My Ash") it's 5 min from the LEGENDARY(..WELL TO ME IT IS) "Siesta Key Beach" Blown Glass Pipes, Papers T-shirts, incense, and tons of cool shit, I have had this shop here for over 10 years, it has supported my ups and downs, and for it I am grateful, plus it's a great place to hang out, listen to music all day and meet with all my friends on the daily, sell pipes and chill!
