As well as performing with and co writing some national chart hits with these bands Kenny has also recorded and performed with many other artists in different genres. These artists include such well established names as Tom Brown, Jean Carn, The Jones Girls, Spandau Ballet, Paul Weller, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Tina Turner, Alexander O'Neal, Incognito, Jamiroquai, M Beat and many others. Kenny is also an educator encouraging many young musicians to begin studying brass instruments. As well as the trumpet Kenny plays keyboards and guitar. Recent productions include 'The Legacy' by Beggar & Co, an upcoming project'Sleeping Giants' which is a collaboration between some well known names in the genre as well an upcoming solo cd release 'In Retro Spect' which should be released later in the year (October 2011).

    Trumpeter Kenny Wellington has played for a range of artists in soul, funk and popular music. Kenny was also a founder member of the groups Beggar & Co and Light of the World, bands that enjoyed chart success in both genre and National charts.The EP was recorded between sessions when Kenny was working on the new Beggar & Co album 'Sleeping Giants' which has just been well received in both the USA and UK. On this EP new interpretations are offered of some well known jazz masterpieces, 'Red Clay', 'Maiden Voyage' and 'A Night In Tunisia' which show the trumpeters dexterity and solid technique. The title track is very 'It's Like That' is very much in the vein of the modern players such as Nicolas Payton and Christian Scott.
