Growing with God, Training in the Gym...good books (especially old first editions. My favorite scent in this world is that of an old book!! When the pages have yellowed to the point where they start to crumble...) at some random quaint coffee shop....and good coffee, of course! French Pressed tanzanian peaberry preferably....not to get TOO specific!! Riding my motorcycle through the canyons in Southern California!! Some day I want to spend a few weeks riding in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine as well...in the summer though. Working on classic muscle cars, riding horses....good food! Mmmm....Steak Tartar...with a good wine or nice single malt scotch! And European Chocolate! God made it, and he blessed it. I know he did.
Being in a strong long lasting relationship! Eventually....My Family!!! They are the best!!! I have the 2 best bros and 4 greatest sisters that anyone could dream of!! And my parents are saints (7 kids in less than 9 years AND they home schooled us?? Yeah...saints..) Oh, did I mention growing with GOD!!! Yeah! That's my Daddy....
I'd like to become a better Rock climber so that I can share something significant in Crystal's life that I also take pleasure in! I would like to start hiking in the beautiful Southern California mountains...It seems like such a waste to live in a such a beautiful area and never explore it...And I need to be able to keep up with Sharon when we eventually get to hike together!! Yes, I love my sisters and take joy in sharing in the experiences that bring them joy...I would like to learn a few languages so that when I backpack (well, i'd be on a motorcycle) through Europe I am not completely clueless!! I really need to start practicing my guitar so that I can actually enjoy playing something that sounds like music!! I have no excuse there...I have the overwhelming urge to take up flyfishing. No idea why, but the idea of standing waist deep in water in the middle of nowhere sounds soooo soothing. Eventually I would like to have horses again...And I really need to make an effort to see snow in So Cal!! It is only an hour away and nothing would make me happier than being able to make a snow angel right now...I miss the snow so much!! *sigh*...I could go on forever...
Music
Third Day, Creed, Jennifer Knapp, Bebo Norman, Burlap to Cashmere, Matthew Ryan.....almost everything excluding Rap, R&B and Hip Hop. Ok....classic rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk....I'm a sucker for live shows. Especially in NYC...Ok fine..I LOVE COUNTRY!!!!!! Don't hold it against me, I never said I was perfect......It has been my dream to play the guitar but I never seem to make the commitment when it comes to the practice. What can I say?? I am such a procrastinator!! And I LOVE to sing!! Come on! I do a pretty decent "Me and Bobby McGee"!! I admit that when I am stressed, sad or just plain bored, nothing makes me happier than a good Karaoke bar...I know...I have no shame.
Movies
The Scarlet Pimpernel, Arsenic and Old Lace, 300, The Last Samari, anything with Jackie Chan. Love Meg Ryan and Marissa Tomei. Love the Borne series, though the books were soooo much better!! Of course that is ALWAYS the case! If a movie was as detailed and specific as the book, it would be so long that it would just be ridiculous!! That is why we will never be able to replace the joy that comes from a great book... Lord of the Rings...Anything based on a Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, John Grisham or Stephen Hunter book. I will watch almost any movie once, except for Horror....I LOVE Turner Movie Classics and AMC! Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn are never a disappointment. I have come to realize that the majority of greta movies made in the last 10 years are just remakes of great movies made over 50 years ago!! And back then they were sucessful based on acting, not special effects!!
I do love the movies though. I HAVE to get a kids meal (kids popcorn with extra small lemonade with junior mints) and I am completely content going to the movies alone.
Television
Overhaulin', Flip this House, Bones, House, Family Guy, Biker Build-off, Charmed... NFL Season!!!! Go Patriots!!!! Ok fine, and Days of Our Lives. We all have our flaws!!!! Lately i've liked The Dead Zone, Heroes, Psych and Monk....I think i've been watching too much TV lately. I really need to bury my nose in a good book instead! I do watch American Idol and Dancing with the Stars if I happen to catch it, but don't go out of my way. I have been watching American Gladiators since they did call me in to audition for a Gladiator role (obviously I didn't get picked..not this season anyways) but honestly it doesn't really hold my interest for long.
Books
The Bible first and foremost!!! The Scarlet Letter, Shogun, Black Light... anything by Poe, Tolkien, Clancy, Clavell, Ludlum or Grisham. Always open to suggestions!!! Love fiction, but non-fiction is just as intriguing. Been reading a lot of older Christain authors. Watchman Nee, Billy Graham, Clarence Lawkins to name just a few.....The Normal Christian Life is fast becoming the most inspirational (excluding the Bible, of course) books that I have ever read!! I raided my father's extensive library and am enjoying some great Christian Authors from the 1920's!! I have a really bad habit or highlighting and underlining the interesting parts, which usually ends up being the better part of the book!! Only in non-fiction though...
If anyone is ever at a loss for a gift idea for me, you can't go wrong with a book!! Preferably a hard cover and if it is an older book, preferably used...Or a starbucks card....ok, both.
But seriously, I have always dreamed of opening a coffeehouse/used bookstore in some quaint town far from LA where it would be loved and appreciated!! That just sounds like a piece of heaven...
Heroes
Jesus Christ. In every way, shape and form possible!!! Then my Dad and Mom, who did such an amazing job raising me and my 6 siblings!! And of course, my brothers and sisters who I love more than life itself....My family is the greatest blessing I have ever know second to my salvation!!!
My Humble Life........ Trying to finalize a place to live!! Grrr....I hate moving. Oh yeah, did I mention that I am getting Married January 31st?? That too...I should probably plan th Posted at 8:20 PM Oct 13 view more
About me: My favorite color is green...I am undecided between sunrise and sunset as both are breathtaking. I love frogs and monkeys. I could get lost in a stationary store for hours and am happy to spend way too much money on a really good writing pen (I am sooo picky) and nice Italian stationary (though I am horrible about actually writing letters). I drink coffee like it is necessary for sustaining life...and love it. Coffee, single malt scotch, A good wine, and a draft guinness are all equally enjoyable. Throw a good book, good company or good music in with any of them and life doesn't get much better!! I always face the outside of the bed when I sleep. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. My favorite rose is kind of beige colored with dusty rose colored edges...Don't know its specific name, but it is beautiful! And I am perfectly content with one perfect Rose as opposed to a dozen average roses (though I will never complain!). I think my family is perfect even with all of our flaws which are inevitable!! I am a procrastinator and it is my absolute greatest flaw. It would be the one thing that I would love to change about myself. My dog Spike is my best bud and I pray that he lives to be 20! I love my The Church at Rocky Peak, and live for Peak Praise (It is an hour and a half of just praise and worship and prayer) the first sunday night of every month! And I am so thrilled that we have a great Teacher and not just a great Preacher...I love knowedge...I love Life! I love to be happy, and even at my lowest points, I still have an indescribable Joy! I am so blessed...No regrets, only growth.
Who I'd like to meet: Eve. She has got some explaining to do. Billy Graham, Tom Clancy, Frank Zappa....so many more!!
