Paul Simon, Pink Floyd, Phish, Gavin Castleton, Citizen Cope, Miles Davis, Ray Lamontagne, Ani DiFranco, Rustic Overtones, Picadilly Circus, Dog Fashion Disco, U2, Portishead, 311, James, John Mayer, Primus, SUPERBAND!, Java Bean, and sooooooooo many more - not that I sound like ANY of these in particular...I just dig'em. It all comes down to honesty for me. I have to believe what they're saying and playing to me. I hate watered-down, angsty lyrics that mean nothing and say nothing...and I hate gigantic radio rock with a true passion.

Here is what you (might) want to know about Kev...
He released his debut solo album, “Waltzing on Eggshells,” in June of 2007 on Copper Mind Records. All of the songs on “Waltzing on Eggshells” chronicle the highs and lows he and his wife experienced in their first three years of marriage. His music is poppy without being sugary...consistent without being boring...confessional without being whiny... Drawing inspiration from classic artists like Paul Simon and Pink Floyd, as well as contemporaries such as Citizen Cope, Ray Lamontagne and Ani Difranco, “Waltzing on Eggshells” is a powerful statement on the institute of marriage.
Since relocating to North Carolina with his wife and daughter, Kevin has become a regular performer in the greater Charlotte area the old fashioned way – by working hard, playing often, and giving audiences a memorable show each night. Armed with a full arsenal of vintage and state of the art effects, his approach to live music is refreshing. He never lets the technology get in the way of the song, but does try and take things as far as he can in a live setting. There’s only so much ‘guy with guitar who sings’ someone can take.
No stranger to the business, Kevin has been writing, recording, and performing music for the last 15 years. He began polishing his songwriting in one of Northeast Ohio’s most revered live acts, Picadilly Circus, where he played lead guitar and shared vocal duties. He has headlined many impressive venues, including the House of Blues, Peabody’s, the Odeon, Nelson Ledges, and the world famous Cleveland Agora. He has also participated twice in the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX.

Very cool! Can't wait to hear the new stuff when it comes out. College is a great resource for finding a good gigging group (as long as you have time to weed through the primadonnas and fools.) I've been writing/recording, but at my own slow pace. Quit the full band I was recording with for 4 years (Oceanblur) and am going solo. Grabbed a drummer for live gigs (video on the myspace as well as on youtube.) And just been enjoying the life of a recently-graduated, manual-laborer; making music and causing mischief.

Kevin Brawley! Thanks for being a friend. Please take the time to check out the Studio's bands on our playlist. Use the links to check out the band's pages. Do what you you can for your local scene. You are the people that make the music scene happen! Tell me what you think!
Yeah, I saw a couple Keaggy/Dispatch videos on Youtube. Made me think of what would happen if Mike Doughty from Soul Coughing fronted 311 with Carlos Santana. lol
I just thought that guitar was crazy. I can't believe you can make a guitar with a removable neck that you *don't have to tune*!! I wants...
no problem :) i actually saw you do a show at wild wings in charlotte about a year ago. turns out i talked my roommate into buying your cd...we're hoping to see another show soon
Haha. Yea they are wonderful people. Melissa and I have been friends since childhood and Jeff is a great guy. I look forward to coming out to hear you. Thanks for the add.
