In the opening of Kidd Video and in the music
videos, Kidd is played by Bryan Scott. Bryan sings
and plays guitars and keyboards in the videos, and
did actually sing and play guitar on the Kidd Video
songs. He is featured as lead vocalist on "Time", "Easy Love" and other songs. He also provided
the voice of Kidd in the cartoons.
Carla
The
only girl in the group, Carla is the drummer of Kidd Video. She
is Hispanic. She seems to be kind of a party girl; it seems like
she's always looking to have fun while they're in the Flipside.
In at least two episodes we learn that she also likes jogging.
Carla also seems to have a close friendship with Glitter.
Whiz
Whiz
plays guitar and keyboards and sings many of the lead vocals. He
is also the classic toon "smart guy" -- he can make anything out
of... well, anything! He makes a lot of contraptions to get the
gang out of trouble. He also made Toolbot.
Ash
Ash
plays keyboards for Kidd Video (in the cartoon; in the videos he
also plays bass and saxophone). He is best known for always
coming up with terrible song lyrics to describe the situation.
Ash seems to be the biggest music lover, even though his
improvised "lyrics" are pretty awful. Ash is also known for
being a little cowardly; he can be timid in dangerous situations
and needs the support of his friends to keep going.
Glitter
Glitter is a tiny fairy that meets the gang the minute they
arrive in the Flipside. She saves them from the Master Blaster's
imprisonment and immediately becomes their sidekick. For some
reason, when Glitter sneezes she gains super-strength, but only
for a moment. It was probably the only way the writers could
think of to get the kids out of jams!
Master Blaster
Master Blaster was the one who brought Kidd Video to the
Flipside in the first place, intending the to be his 'musical
slaves'. Unfortunately for him, Kidd Video escaped the moment
they arrived, and have been foiling his plans ever since! After
Kidd Video escaped, Master Blaster apparently kept capturing
other bands from the real world and imprisoning them in the
Flipside (thus the music video segment(s) in each show).
The Copy Cats
The Copy Cats are Kool Kitty, She-Lion and Fat Cat.
They work for Master Blaster, and basically try to
make life miserable for Kidd Video. However, they
are really too incompetent to do any real damage.
They are scared to death of Master Blaster, but have
absolutely no respect for him. Major cowards. They
don't stand up for themselves... they've even asked
Kidd Video for help now and then. They could be said
to embody vanity (She-Lion), gluttony (Fat Cat), and
sloth (Kool Kitty)... but maybe that's
overanalyzing.

...This profile "Kiddvideogroup" is a fan site devoted to anything relating to the 1980's cartoon "Kidd Video". I, the creator of this profile am only a fan myself and have no ties to the original cast/crew of the show. While I do not go out of the way to advertise my identity, I am not above revealing myself if you ask me politely who I am in a private message!
This profile exists to help keep the memory and idea of the Flipside alive. When this profile was originally created there were not too many resources on the web for anything Kidd Video related, whether it be images or the much sought after episodes. Now with a little bit of searching all of you fans can find episodes and images!!

Kidd Video is a half-hour television series that ran Saturdays on NBC, between 1984 and 1986. It was produced by DIC Productions in association with Saban Productions. The series was about a California teen music band called Kidd Video. The band consists of Kidd (the leader), Carla (the fearless girl drummer), Whiz (the Macgyver type who could make anything) and Ash (well, he's a good guy, but kind of a schmoe).
One day, they meet at H&S Storage (where they keep some of their equipment). Kidd removes a plastic covering from a nearby mirror and the band starts to practice. Suddenly, an image appears in the mirror. It's a cartoon man called the Master Blaster. By pressing a button on his chair, he takes the band to a world of Rock & Roll... another dimension known as the Flipside. The Flipside is an upbeat, non-threatening environment filled with people who love Kidd Video's music. It's a strange, bizarre world where the laws of nature don't exist. The band turns into cartoons... and the Master Blaster wants the band to be his musical slaves forever! However, the kids are rescued by a fairy named Glitter. In the series, the band explores the Flipside in hopes that they will find a way back to our world... and also avoids the Master Blaster of Bad Vibes and his cronies, the Copy Cats.
