In 2008 Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion formed his own band named "Kidneys", in which he not only plays the guitar and sings but also writes, produces, and plays drums for all of the in studio recordings. Brooks recently finished his work on the album and is looking forward to the brand new CD release later this year. Brooks is not the only accomplished musician behind Kidneys. When playing live this band features drummer TODD HENNIG(death by stereo) and bassist JOHN SPIKER (tenacious D,filter). Both are well respected musicians with an undeniable soul and pageantry that is a pleasure to watch. If given the opportunity to witness this band play live the audience is always pleasantly surprised as this trio performs at a level far beyond that of a band just starting out. . From the start Kidneys developed a following from all walks of life due to their unique sound, which has been described by many as a cross between Elvis Costello and the Descendents. The sound of Kidneys touches the hearts of those looking for a unique sound unparalleled to most of the music of today. Brilliant Musicianship, are a few of the words that have been used to describe the recordings on their newest self titled album. Its also proof positive that when Kidneys take the stage the curiosity runs rampant and the hands have no choice but to start clapping.
