Anything with a good story but my favorites are horror, fantasy and science fiction. I also read a lot of miscellaneous things for story research and enjoy them.

Depends on the definition...movie heroes? Real life heroes? Novel heroes? Gaming heroes? Living or historical? I'd have a different answer for each.
