Fresh from the breakup from Lost Sounds (Memphis, TN), drummer Rich Crook got back together friend Jack “Oblivian"Yarber to stir things up a bit again with the band called Knaughty Knights.
Formed in the year 2000 these two along with the help of ex-persuaders fame (N.O.L.A.) Shaggy and others to honorable to mention, managed to release their first single on Italy’s own Freddie Z’s label Solid Sex Lovie Doll records. Duty called for both Jack and Rich to split ways temporarily for their other main outings, as mentioned, Rich being in Lost Sounds and Jack busy with the Cool Jerks, the Tearjerkers and other countless endeavors. After some time off the boys got together again to record their 2nd single (some thought their last) for New Zealand label Perpetrator.
Scheduling tours and even local shows never really occurred to the Knaughty Knights until Eric “Oblivian" Friedl offered to release the Knaughty Knights 3rd installment to the 45 rpm single world under the famed Goner Records label. Touring in support of this new single and other goodies the Knaughty Knights bring their brand of Memphis, Rock n’ Roll to Eurotown near and far.
Most of you Memphis folks know and love our good buddy Don Perry, photographer extraordinaire. Well, next Friday, 2/27, Don will be having a photo show at the Hi-Tone, and we'll be playing. I think the doors will open around 8 and you can come and check out Don's amazing pics, and even buy some of it. Don is doing really great work around town, documenting the music scene and the city of Memphis itself.
As usual, there's no opener. We'll start up around 10-ish, but get there before that so you can enjoy Don's photos without a couple of Fenders squawling in your ears.
The cover is - you guessed it - five bucks. See ya there!
