Formed in early 2006, Knives In The Attic's goal was to create honest, fun music that’s not afraid to just rock. Combining their diverse influences, which range from Nirvana to Refused, Black Sabbath to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Knives In The Attic’s sound is familiar yet still unexpected. Christen Shaw’s vocals move from gritty to intimate, vulnerable to screaming, giving the band’s unique musical sensibilities a true feeling of voice and individuality. Live, the band delivers a performance characteristic of their punk/art-hardcore roots; energetic, passionate and violent.
Their debut EP, DeathPop, was released March 2006. They spent the rest of the year touring both regionally and nationally. Recently Knives In The Attic returned to Seattle where they are working on a full length record, with plans to play shows locally and tour again in the fall.
