I love most types of music. Just to pick a few, Ed Rush & Optical, Bad Company, Teebee, Leftfield, Boards of Canada, Monk Fly, Bonobo, Lamb, Tool, Muse, Faith No More, Castings, Animal Collective, Radiohead, Primus (anything Les Claypool), Nine Inch Nails.
Influence comes from a lot of earlier dark D'n'B, Tech step and a lot of various dubstep & dark beats.
Know-U is me, Andrew Waszkiewicz, also going under the names, Kortiki and Khat. Originally from Newcastle, I started writing music at the age of 7, having a guitarist for a father will do that. I started out playing guitar and also had a keyboard. From there I learnt saxophone in school and started playing bass. I got into electronic music around 97 and started to produce hard house with Electrofunk, playing live gigs in Newcastle, I also got into Djing, playing Drum & Bass, around that time, playing shows for Mark N and others. Around 2000 I started writing by myself becoming a literal bedroom producer, writing music of a broad range of electronic styles, that was based around bass with a little bit of Drum & Bass influence. I produced a cd under the name Kortiki, which was essentially going to be a demo but became a 12 track cd which was handed around to friends.
Know-U is now my main focus, trying to create a ethereal mix of dubstep, jungle/drum & bass, and chilled electronic stuff.
Hey Andrew good to hear from you mate. Thanks for the feedback on the mix, i had fun putting it together. Not playing as much as i used to these days, but it was a good exercise to sharpen up again. I was meaning to congratulate you on your EP launch when it happened but never got round to it... So yeah top work dude, nice tunes :)
