Influences
We really like a lot of things, but maybe we listen to The Sea And Cake, Gal Costa and João Gilberto more than others.
The members of Kommode have played together since 1993.The story began with the band Skog, that disintegrated into Kings of Convenience in 1997 when two of the members, Eirik and Erlend, discovered they could sing together. At the same time Anders went on to found the Norwegian skiing/snowboard magazine Fri Flyt, while Øystein opened the first Dromedar Coffeshop in Bergen. In 2001, Anders, Øystein and Eirik realized that they missed playing together. The name Kommode was born, and the target aimed at: to make music for hips and heads. And the occasional toetapping.
Every so often the magnificent Paul Holden from Ophelia Hope joins the band and makes his wonderful work on the keyboard.
(We edited our profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4, and must say that we're quite happy about the result.)

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
