“I don’t know how and I don’t know why … rock and roll will never die …”
This line taken from the title track of Krackerjack’s latest album “Rock On!” really sums up what this band is all about. Good, old classic rock. Lots of riffs. Catchy melodies. And a real good time!
Vocalist Allan G. Pedersen, guitarist René Mikkelsen, bassist Rasmus Bruun, keyboardplayer Claus Greve and drummer Jeppe Christensen were all brought up on classic rock – and are keen to pass on this great tradition. Krackerjack’s third album “Rock On!” saw the light of day in December 2007 – coinciding with their tenth anniversary – and has already received rave reviews from across the globe.
The tale of the Jack starts in 1997 when Mikkelsen and Christensen decides to break up their former band and launch into a new outfit to celebrate their love of hard rock and blues. Krackerjack spends their early years playing gigs mainly around their hometown of Vejle, Denmark – occasionally spreading their wings in other parts of the country as well – and perfecting their brand of melodic hard rock. Surviving line-up changes and even a two-year hiatus, it seems nothing can keep a good band down and in August 2005 Krackerjack release their debut album “Good Thing Goin’”. Songs like “Face Another Day”, “The Sinner” and the catchy “Why Did You Love Me?” strike a solid chord with audiences and the fan base starts to grow immensely. Eight songs from the vault are released in 2006 as “Call Of The Wild – The Early Years”, but everything adds up when “Rock On!” is completed in late 2007. This album shows Krackerjack as they truly are. Ten songs that signal everything the band stands for – from the slow, bluesy tunes like “Blame It On The Little Big Man” (an ode to George W.) and “Waiting For Tomorrow”, through rock anthems like “Back Together”, “Lullaby” and “Love ‘Em To Death”, to classic power ballads like “This Heart” and “Too Late”, this album will be every rock fan’s perfect introduction to Krackerjack.

Quotes from the press ..........
"This could possibly be the best classic rock/hard rock CD I have ever heard. From track 1 through track 10 there is not a bad song on the release!!! Every song sounded like it was written and arranged by seasoned songwriters. If you’re a fan of bands like Deep Purple, early Whitesnake (pre-John Sykes), or Joe Lynn Turner then you’ll love Krackerjack!!!!"

"This is a true Rock record that has enough melody, harmony, good songwriting, and musical performances to compete with the more popular Rock bands on the charts. I’m very impressed with Allen Pedersen’s deep melodic vocals and the interplay between the guitar and keyboards. I have always been a big fan of bands that use a Hammond Organ so it’s safe to say that I am jumping on the Krackerjack bandwagon. This is a band to watch! Fans of Deep Purple, early Whitesnake, UFO, and Great White should take notice!"
HEAVY METAL ADDICTION
"Biggest surprise was the track 'Back Together', not because it's the best on offer (it isn't), but simply because if you didn't know better, you'd swear blind it was Harem Scarem! Elsewhere, they go for sensory overload with hook laden anthems like 'Love 'Em To Death', 'Blame It On The little Big Man' (love the Hammond), the sprawling 'Hungry Boy' or the slightly more modern edged title track 'Rock On!'. Independent releases are usually inferior quality in every way, but every once in a while you come across an exception to the rule … 'Rock On!' is definitely one such exception!"

"It's great when an album comes out of nowhere to smack you in the face with the sort of songs that run around your head for the rest of the day. That Krackerjack are without a decent distribution deal is staggering, as this is what many people are looking for these days. “Rock On” is an album I happily recommend to all fans of classic melodic rock. Track it down and give them a go, because you won't regret it."

"It’s difficult to place Allan G Pedersen’s excellent, soulful voice but I would go for a combination of Mr. David Coverdale & Harem Scarem’s own Harry Hess. Especially the way they recorded the lush & rich vocal harmonies made me more than once think of their Canadian brothers in arms. Drape those harmonies over superbly crafted and hyper melodic classic rock songs and I think we have a winner on our hands…"

"A strong production, but not a super slick style. Simple, loose and raw, it suits the energy of the band and the songs on offer here. Fans of 70s classic rock should check this out as there is a lot to like."

"I am hopeful that this album opens up some doors for the band, apart from providing opening support for international acts visiting Denmark. Let's hope that the 2008 summer provides an opportunity for Krackerjack to break out of the box.. because man.. that Hammond organ has just gotta be heard! Jon Lord fans would be well advised to check this band out, as would Gotthard fans. We may be on the verge of something special with Krackerjack!"
