KRAMBAMBULYA! is a unique cross-cultural and multi-style experience, charged with great melodies, positive emotion and the real rock vibe.
Coming from Minsk, Belarus, the band combines true Belarusian culture with multinational influences. Musically it is a mix of rock and folk, ska, world music, packed with catchy tunes. Concert-wise it is the positive energy from the whole world brought together into one place.
KRAMBAMBULYA! was formed in 2002. So far they have released four studio albums and a best-of compilation (the last one was also released in Ukraine). It is one of the top bands in Belarus, also well-known in Ukraine. The band also played shows and festivals in Poland and Russia.
Attitude
The band is lead by Lyavon Volski, one of the most influential artists in Belarusian music of the 90s and 00s. "Foreign people, who listen to us for the first time are often astonished that we don’t look like a band from the country of totalitarianism. They ask us, how this is possible", Lyavon tells. "It’s very easy: you can’t be gloomy and desperate for ages. You need to have fun and bring it to the people – against all odds. This ability demonstrates your inner freedom more than anything else".
Cooperation
One of the typical features of KRAMBAMBULYA! is a mix of cultures and musical styles. Hence the guest appearances from artists of different genres and countries.
Such hits as "Gostsi" ("Guests") and "Turysty" ("Tourists") for example were recorded with Sergey Mikhalok from the popular Belarusian rock band Lyapis Trubetskoy. Another people’s favourite, "Marski Chalavek" ("Seaman Song") was recorded with Alexander Kullinkovich, the leader of the cult Belarusian punk band Neuro Dubel.
On the international side the band has recorded the song "Susedzi" ("Neighbours)" with Andrey Kuzmenko, leader of the popular Ukranian rock band "Skryabin", and several songs with Azerbaijanianan pop singer Gunesh Abasova.
