Band MembersKRAMER has played his Hofner bass guitar with no guitar strap in WEEN ('94), BUTTHOLE SURFERS (85), SHOCKABILLY ('82-'85), HALF JAPANESE ('87-'88), B.A.L.L. ('88-'91), BONGWATER ('87-'90), THE CAPTAIN HOWDY (w/partner Penn Jillette, '92-'97), THE FUGS (1984 reunion band), and one glorious gig with GG ALLIN's SUPERSCUM (the notorious "Cat Club" gig in NYC). His first "professional" gig was as keyboardist/synthesist for DAEVID ALLEN'S NEW YORK GONG (in 1979 at the tender age of 21). Proof of Kramer's tenure with the Buttholes can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKFCQZnNZmQ (though that gig was in '85, not '83). From 2000 until early 2003, Kramer retired from this fucking business and studied theater and directing under ARTHUR PENN at The Actors Studio in NYC, and then composed the music for Penn's production of FORTUNE'S FOOL on B'way, which swept the "male" acting categories (for both lead actor SIR ALAN BATES and supporting actor FRANK LANGELLA) at the Tony's, Drama Desk, and NY Critic's Circle awards that same year. From 2004 and 2006, Kramer again all but retired from this fucking business and went to work for JAMES RANDI chasing self-proclaimed psychics (frauds), mediums (frauds) and fortune tellers (frauds) the world over. Two years of that was more than sufficient, and he now divides his time between mixing and mastering chores at his Florida home/studio, and traveling the globe to produce artists who ask nicely. many Australian artists who have recently asked nicely include LEADER CHEETAH, BRIDEZILLA, DIRTBIRD, CATNIP, THE HUM OF INDUSTRY, and CUBA IS JAPAN. there simply IS NO MORE VIBRANT MUSIC SCENE ANYWHERE on earth at the present time, than there is in AUSTRALIA.
InfluencesDirectors: John Cassavetes and Robert Bresson. why? because they seek The Truth. Literature: W.G. Sebald and Nicholson Baker. why? because they seek The Truth. Music: none. honest. Dear Kramer,

I have received the masters and listened carefully to one of the CDs
with the other members of the band. Let me tell you we're all very
impressed by the work you've done. The clarity and depth of the final
master is beyond our expectations. Some sounds, which were buried in
the mix, are now fully integrated. The dynamics and overall volume of
the CD is just perfectly balanced. And the more important thing for me
is that it doesn't sound French at all (the voice on the foreground and
everything else being crushed behind). In sum, this mastering does
justice to the work of the engineers and musicians who helped us create
this music. We could not have been happier!

I hope to work again with you in the future and to see you in Paris when you come by!

A Whole lot of love,

Yann

I read some bad tea news in the paper today and thought of you. Apparently sri lanken tea is up 25% due to drought and kenyan tea is 20 something % more expensive too.
On another tea note, what was the name of that really nice kind of yellowy pale tea that i really liked? i need to find some super soon.
How's your cat liking the rat?

Hey Kramer, sorry we didn't get to catch up before you left last week (I was up and gone very early on Friday morning). Lesley tells me we are having a dinner party at our place when you come back, and that you have volunteered to cook - sounds great! Looking forward to it.
