Lacerda was born out of an obsession for pop culture. Taking their name from a character in Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” this power-pop quintet make “unabashedly poppy music that makes it okay for smart kids to dance” ~Alternative Press. Combining clever lyrics, experimental inflections, and hard hitting rhythms all mired in a relentlessly catchy sound. Leaving their native Canada behind, Lacerda have managed to make their way across a large portion of the USA. Completing several successful tours of the US east coast over the coarse of 2009. In early July of 2009 Lacerda made their way down to Nada Studios to record a 3 song demo with producer John Naclerio (Brand New, My Chemical Romance, Sense Fail). Following their road trip to the studio Lacerda hit up Warped Tour for several dates promoting their 6 Song ep "For Love and Hope". They have independently sold over 2000 copies of their ep and are currently on a tour of the MIdwest, and the East Coast to be followed by a 5 week tour with The Doppler Effect in the late September.
