Sounds Like
"Kate Bush/Tori Amos feel with an exotic Middle Eastern twist.... a sumptuous affair" - Philadelphia City Paper
"A host of multicultural influences come into play.... Similar in nature -- but not necessarily in style -- to singers like Ofra Haza, Sinead O'Connor and Enya... delicate and ethereal, with a molten core and a clear, strong delivery....hauntingly embracing; there's also a real sense of movement here, which may be due in part to her background as a dancer as well as a musician. You can almost feel a physical expression manifested in the turn of an instrument or a percussive rhythm" - Big Shout
Lacy James is a singer/songwriter, dancer and choreographer. She coproduced her debut CD Lovefeast with Jim Gallagher at the Gamble-Huff and Kajem/Victory studios in Philadelphia, where the basic tracks were enhanced by many wonderful guest musicians. In "Song of Songs," Old Testament love poetry drifts through a heavenly arrangement of Arabic and Indian drums, flute and keyboards. "Silverback," based on the life of gorilla researcher Dian Fossey, blends thundering drums and African percussion with ethereal sounds from a variety of sources: guitars, bass, sythesizers and the Rwandan gorillas themselves. Lacy's dance company, Mereminne Dancers, has performed extensively in New York City and her choreography has also been presented in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Germany. Most recently, Lacy has been composing electronic soundscores for some of her choreography.

You have surely heard about the tragic death of a brave young woman who was murdered in Iran just for peacefully protesting with her father on the streets of Teheran.
Hi Lacy, I can't believe that I missed you. Thanks for coming out last night. Did you split right after the set. I wish that Carrie could have seen you. Tom
