the eternal feminine.
having a room of my own.
Making and singing my own songs is a recent discovery for me. Creating is not. I have drawn and painted since I was a child, and have written (poetry, essays, stories) for almost as long. Now, I suppose I'm trying to fly.
I have been down and up; lately, mostly up.
Most of the time, I live in reality with a stubborn buffer of imagination/emotion. I like to be at home as often as can, with tea, creating. I like the woods. I like being alone. I like sharing and talking about creative processes with friends. I am lucky to know such giving people. I like to tell it slant. I look clean, but curse like a sailor.
I like characters, they seem to be drawn to me. I collect "crazy people," I say lovingly (b/c I am one).
Sometimes I feel like a mill house, a mole; my creative fuel is the stuff of life. That's just how I process living. That's how I live.
I've seen a bit of this country, driving, flying, by train ("ah, the best way"), and have fallen in love with it. I'd like to see more though--and over again. I want to see the world. I'd live twice, but know enough to make this one count.
catch me before I singe my glittering Icarus wings.

that contraption I have my hands/arms in is some kind of mutant air conditioning system they use at South Florida Hotels...I thought it was rather Kubrick-esque...
Check out my latest addition to the page, covering Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" just in time to get an early jump on all the other annoying holiday crap. Enjoy!

My picture was taken in the Fort Bragg botanical gardens, after which nothing near as exciting as mysterious deer was seen. Ok, one guy threw up and a UFO landed but that's it. Honestly, there was no UFO I was just trying to beef up the experience. My Grandma was visiting from Southern Illinois and that was beautiful and loving but not really adrenaline inducing. ;-)
My attempts to create an Open at the Mama Buzz Cafe have failed. The will be no open mic at the Mama Buzz cafe. The "Every Second Sunday" open mic has been double booked for the second month in a row. It is clear I'm not suited to be the host of an open mic. Thank you all for your interest and support. My sincerest apologies to all musicians poets that hoped and even planned for this open mic.
