LAID IN ASHES wurden im Winter 1999 in Bottrop/Deutschland gegründet. Das Ziel war es, eine Band zu erschaffen, deren Wurzeln tief im brutalen und kompromisslosen Metal liegen, ohne sich dabei auf einen bestimmten Stil zu beschränken.

4 Jahre, 2 Demo CDs und 2 Line-Up Wechsel später veröffentlichten LAID IN ASHES ihr Debutalbum "FREAKSHOW 666", welches komplett in Eigenregie vertrieben wurde. Die Mixtur auf diesem schädelspaltenden kleinen Bastard könnte passend mit Death-/Thrash nach Laid in Ashes Art beschrieben werden: aggressives Riffing trifft auf eingängige Melodien und wird durch den brutalen Gesang des im Jahr 2002 hinzu gestoßenen Shouters Fabian in ein hochexplosives Gemisch verwandelt. Für „Freakshow 666“ bekam man ebenfalls durchweg gute Kritiken und konnte auch Kritiker renommierter Magazine, wie dem deuschen Rock Hard Magazin, überzeugen.

Von diesem Zeitpunkt an spielten LAID IN ASHES viele Live-Shows mit Bands wie Thyrfing, Raise Hell, Arcturus, God Dethroned, Master, Withering Surface, Adorned Brood, The Vision Bleak usw. und machten sich durch ihre energiegeladene und aggressive Bühnenshow einen Namen in der deutschen Metal-Szene.

Anno 2006 blickten LAID IN ASHES auf ein erfolgreiches Jahr 2005 zurück, in dem sich die Band durch zahlreiche Gigs in ganz Deutschland eine treue Fanbase erspielt hat. Angetrieben von dieser positiven Energie haben LAID IN ASHES mit "BASTARDS FROM HELL" den legitimen Freakshow 666-Nachfolger eingespielt, der am 19.05.2006 via Perish in Light / Twilight veröffentlicht wurde. Das Album brachte LAID IN ASHES eine Vielzahl von guten Konzertangeboten ein und man teilte sich die Bühne neben einigen langjährigen Weggefährten auch mit Bands wie Gorefest, Darkseed und Exodus.

Im September 2007 nisteten LAID IN ASHES sich im Soundlodge-Studio ein, um ihr neues Album "SOLITARY GHOSTRIDE" einzutrümmern. Die Hörerschaft darf ein pures Stück Metal erwarten, das verbrannte Erde hinterlassen wird. Am 10. Oktober 2008 wurde "SOLITARY GHOSTRIDE" auf die Menschheit losgelassen.

LAID IN ASHES were founded in winter 1999 in Bottrop / Germany by Ingo, Jochen, Markus and Georg. Their goal was to create a band that was deeply anchored into the brutal side of metal, but should not be limited to a certain style. 4 years, 2 demo cds and 2 line-up changes later LAID IN ASHES concentrated on intensively writing new songs and improving their musical style. This can be proved by their debut album 'Freakshow 666' that was released all by themselves in April 2003. The music featured on this skullcrushing bastards can be best described as Death-/Thrash metal played the Laid in Ashes way: aggressive riffing is mixed with catchy melodies and the extraordinary brutal voice of Fabian who joined the band in 2002. Also for that album the dudes got almost nothing but good reviews, even in renowned magazines like german Rock Hard Magazine.

From this point on Laid in Ashes played a lot of shows with bands like Thyrfing, Raise Hell, Arcturus, God Dethroned, Master, Withering Surface, Adorned Brood, The Vision Bleak etc. and became well known for their powerful and aggressive live performance.

In 2006 LAID IN ASHES looked back on a successful year 2005 in which the band earned a strong fanbase by playing lots of gigs throughout Germany. Driven by this positive energy LAID IN ASHES with their new axe-man Steve went into the studio again to record their long awaited second album 'Bastards From Hell' which was released on 19.05.2006 via Perish in Light / Twilight. A lot of gigs were played and they shared the stage even with some well-known bands like Darkseed, Gorefest and Exodus.

In September of 2007 LAID IN ASHES entered the Soundlodge-studio to record their new album "SOLITARY GHOSTRIDE". You can expect a pure piece of metal that takes no prisoners. On October 10th the beast has been unleashed!!!
