We are Language from London. We started this shebang when we were asked to write "songs to fuck to" for a series of gay porn films called Indie Boyz. You may be familiar with them. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone if you won't.
We were actually asked to calm it down a bit so people could concentrate on the fucking, so we formed a band for the other stuff. We work in dead-end jobs - record stores, the NHS, the porn industry - and quickly realised the band is more us.
The money from the films paid for our band demos which we let our friends release and allowed us to develop our live eletronic show; there is no backing track. These have gained us some nice comments in the likes of Artrocker and Attitude magazines, and earned us comparisons with the likes of Adam And The Ants and Depeche Mode.
So this summer we decided to take it more seriously and sit down and write some proper songs; songs like "The Future Or Woody Allen", which was produced for us by Andy Ramsay from Stereolab. Much of these new songs make up our new live set we are soon to unveil.
We like Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, New Order and Beyonce. We hope to see you soon.
