I don't care what anyone says. The most challenging aspect of being an artist is to stand before an audience and to tell the truth --- YOUR truth as expressed through the music that YOU create. I'm not talking about trying to be cute or clever, or rhyming "Dan" with "Man". I'm not talking about trying to impress somebody with lightin speed chops or a million colorful chords. What I'm saying is that real art takes the honesty and courage to reflect on your life, then to tell YOUR story --- warts and all.
