   About Larry Kirwan
Larry Kirwan is the leader, singer/guitarist and composer for the rock group, Black 47. Black 47 has released ten CDs; a history of these recordings can be read at www.black47.com Kirwan has also recorded Kilroy Was Here and Keltic Kids as solo efforts. With the band he has appeared on all the major television shows, including Leno, Letterman and OBrien and been profiled in most major magazines and newspapers in the US. He has written eleven plays and musicals, five of which are collected in the book Mad Angels. Liverpool Fantasy, his best known play, has been produced Off-Broadway and at the Dublin Theatre Festival. He has also written a novel version of Liverpool Fantasy, a memoir Green Suede Shoes and a collection of songs and stories Livin in America. In 1995 he was named one of the top fifty most interesting New Yorkers by the NY Daily News, several places ahead of Madonna. It would appear, however, that he has lost considerable ground of late to this blonde seductress. Nonetheless, while plotting a comeuppance, he slaves away in bitter and cunning silence on Transport a musical with Thomas Keneally, a new novel Rockin The Bronx, while traversing the highways and byways of America with Black 47 in search of the perfect gig and microbrewery.

Just wanted to say that the IBAM show in Chicago was very moving and inspiring.  I loved hearing the new songs, especially "Celtic Rocker" and "Red Hugh".  I look forward to the new album in Feb.  I also really enjoyed hearing "Danny Boy."

As we were going over the Cork and Kerry Mountains.  June 29t, 2009.  There were many happy sheep, and many farmboys who appeared to have paintball stains on their pants.  This I do not understand.

Hey gang, I'm proud to announce that I'll be acting in an independent short film directed by an old friend this coming weekend. Working title is WATCH
Go to WWW.WATCHTHESHORT.COM to see what's what with that. I'll be playing the part of a cranky homeless dude who yells alot. (....stop laughing!)
This cat's the next Quentin Tarantino and I'm HONORED he would ask me to be involved in his life's vision for this short feature. Wish me luck, Laird
