“Life is meant to be lived out loud.”
-Laura Blevins
On the surface Laura Blevins is a fun loving and free-spirited artist. Her casual charm and quick wit can leave you with the impression that life through her eyes is a simple melody. Interestingly, her music also offers a window to see the beauty of humanity and the complexities of life with its inevitable struggles. Laura creates a refreshing harmony in the paradox of living.
She sites Martina McBride as her main inspiration, but has also been influenced by Alison Kraus, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey.
Born and raised on the Tennessee border of Southern Virginia, just hours from Nashville, Laura grew up performing in church choirs, school musicals, and community programs. Unpopular in her teenage years for following her own path and not adopting the lifestyle of her peers, Laura turned to music for strength and reassurance. “Music has always been such an important part of my life,” says Laura. “There were so many times growing up when I would have been very lost without it. It became the comforting arms of a friend when I felt frustrated or alone.”
Now that those awkward years are behind her, she spends much of her time advocating for those who are close to her heart; our American soldiers. In particular, she volunteers for a non-profit organization, MyHuggy, a company donating recordable teddy bears to our deploying soldiers, helping them stay connected with their children while they are overseas. “To All Who Serve” is Laura’s personal message of support for our troops from her heart. She has performed it for thousands of soldiers being deployed to Iraq, and has utilized the Internet to share it with countless members of our military serving overseas. “You know, everyone claims they support our troops, to say otherwise would be very unpopular right now, and anyone can put a magnet on their car, but how many of us are actually doing something? I’m here to make a difference. This isn’t about me, it’s about them. “
Already getting airtime on www.hooahradio.com, for her moving patriotic piece “To All Who Serve”, Laura said in a recent interview “I really hate it when artists start spouting their political views, so I was very careful to make this song politically neutral, but this isn’t about who’s right or wrong. This is about the fact that our heroes are suffering, there is a real need, and we as Americans can do more.”
In an age where media and entertainment clamor for our attention, inundating our homes with their pessimistic commentaries, Laura Blevins' message is one of passion and inspiration. Stretching past the politics of the day and reaching into people's hearts, listeners will find a voice of strength, gratitude, and optimism that reaches back to our roots; a reminder of humanitarian kindness, a sense of purpose, and clear direction as she lives her life “Out Loud”.
I have a special place in my heart for those heroes we call our troops. I love, support, honor, and respect those brave men and women in the military so much! THANK-YOU from my heart and soul for your service! I love you all!!!
If you love this country as much as I do, PLEASE consider donating to www.myhuggy.com This is a wonderful non-profit donating recordable teddy bears to our troops when they deploy, so they can leave messages for their kids. The messages play back when the kids hug the bear. It's really cool!!!
Please add MyHuggy to your friends list and google MyHuggy to see all the amazing things they have going on!
Thank-you for supporting me as I support our troops!

Just back off a long 'hard' vacation ~ ssshhh! I do so hope Your day special And Your week goes better than my friend Tom’s
Tom, a loving husband, was in trouble. He had forgotten his wedding anniversary and his wife was really ticked off at him. She told him, "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in under six seconds, AND IT BETTER BE THERE."
The next morning, Tom got up really early. When his wife woke up a couple of hours later, she looked out the window, and there was a small gift-wrapped box sitting in the middle of the driveway.
Confused, the wife put on her robe, ran out to the driveway, and took the box into the house. She opened it, and found a brand new bathroom scale.
I do so hope that today may one of reflection And Your week is better for it. As William Thackeray once said "I never know whether to pity or congratulate a man on coming to his senses." HUGS Ken
