"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

I'm coming back home, and I want to see YOU!

I'll be back in town for New York Comic Con from Wed the 21st through Tues the 28th.

I'm not going to have a lot of time so see everyone, so I'm trying to firm up my schedule with old friends whom I've been out of touch with. So PM me if you'd like to catch lunch or dinner with me.

The best chance you'll have to catch me is at the Con or at the Indie After Party at the Twins Pub on Saturday night, the 24th. Again, PM me for more info.

Sorry for the blanket comment, but this seemed like the best way to get in touch with my colleagues and friends. Please drop me a line and let me know the best way to meet up with you.

I land on Wednesday, and I want to have drinks in Astoria. Who's down?

Best,
Philip

Yo....got a freind request from this cool kid from Brooklyn in the comic book industry. Then I read his bio, and realized it was only Randy Gentile.

How is it going man? I haven't seen or heard from you in ages! How's life? Mine is crazy and out of control as usual, but in a good way. Married, kid, one on the way anyday now.....

Holla back when you get some time!!!

so...i was just perusing through lazycomix for my first time. love nycomix! the bathroom episode...all i could think of was"public option #2 has to be the evil empire..." sure enough when the next "page" turned up there she was!!! she charges $5 for a cup of coffee in China where some of them don't make that in a day!!! what i really wanted to say has to do with "what's in your head". that devilish drinkin slob known as the artist's harshest critic probably started as a seed from this scenario, ready? (flashback)..."you call that a cut!!! look like a beaver chewed the edge of that carpet!!! who taught you how to use that knife? Freddy. Ray. Come look at this cut!" HA! good ol' pops! those torturous days when i decided to fill in for you but didn't heed your warnings! lol! all their traumatic needlings will always be a cluster of scars in the back of my mind (as well as yours i'm sure!). do your thing, chicken wing! you may be "struggling" but there will never be a day when you will wake up regretful that you didn't do what you loved!!
