LUKE VIBERT - DJ (Warp / Rephlex / Planet-Nu / Ninja Tune)
Along with surfing and good ice cream, Cornwall is known for giving birth to some of the UK’s freshest composers – Aphex Twin, Tom Middleton (Global Comminications) and the man sometimes known as Luke Vibert (at other times, as Wagon Christ, Plug, Amen Andrews, Ace of Clubs etc). Like his Cornish buddies, Luke was a key player in the development of new electronic styles during the 90’s, and has collaborated with such diverse artists as steel guitarist BJ Cole, Jean Jaques Perry, the Ragga Twins, and his remix skills have been requested by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Squarepusher, Tortoise, Stereolab and more. As a DJ, Luke Vibert knows how to rock the fuckin’ party like few others!

CHRIS DE LUCA VS. PHON.O – LIVE (Shitcatapult / Boysnoize / !K7)
Under the name Funkstörung, Chris de Luca and partner Michael Fakesch released an uncountable amount of records on !K7, Compost Records, Musik aus Strom, Acid Planet and many more, remixing for Björk, Wu-Tang Clan, Speedy J and Plaid… meanwhile, East German buddies Carsten and Sascha went out into the big wide world – to Berlin. Sascha became Apparat, Carsten turned into Phon.o. Since then, Phon.o released a number of 12 inches, EPs and two albums on labels such as Cytrax, Detroit Underground, Normoton, Tigerbeat6 and Shitkatapult. De Luca and Phon.o joined forces in the spring of 2006 after the breakup of Funkstörung. Their unconventional combination of intergalactic hip hop, ghetto beats, sexy booty IDM and dirty techno is going to shake the shit out of your ass!

MIKE DRED AKA THE KOSMIK KOMMANDO – LIVE (Rephlex / R&S)
When it comes to acid, Mike Dred is a sterling force that’s worth his weight in gold. With over 60 releases under the Mike Dred, Universal Indicator (a project in collaboration with Aphex Twin), Kosmik Kommando and Chimera moniker’s since 1990, he is the anatomical zeitgeist of techno performance. Sparing not a single inch of space, Mike brings together a complete catalogue of essential analog hardware to the stage, channeled into one monstrous sonic beast annihilating everything that stands in its way. This isn't a specky geek with a laptop, this is Andre the Giant with the starship enterprise…

MILANESE – LIVE (Warp / Arcola / Planet-Mu)
Native Londoner Steve (Milanese) is an incredible young producer with a perversion for tearing up dancefloors with precision low frequencies and brutal metallic rhythms. He made his debut in 2004 with the refreshing 12” “Vanilla Monkey” on Warp's dance offshoot Arcola, followed by his debut mini LP “1 Up” on Warp. Inspired by the growing grime scene in the early 2000’s he signed to Planet Mu for his debut album "Extend". On the question of his musical style, Milanese calls it “Mashed up robot music, basically like a computer game gone horribly wrong." This is actually a much too modest attempt at pinning down the fierce, raw aggression of his rumbling beats, the sinister emotional tone and sophisticated panache of his production. His latest album ‘Lockout’ is released by Planet-Mu on the 15th June 2009. His live sets are some of the fiercest in the business, prepare yourself for some serious low-end abuse!

The brothers John and Paul Healy, collectively known throughout the world as Somatic Responses, are still native residents of a small industrial mining community snugly located in the southwest region of Wales. Somatic Responses are into complex dislocated & broken beats, distorted intelligent constructions, fascinating sonic structures, force and sweetness intertwined.
If their early productions were of the hardcore and techno kind, and while they later moved on to breakcore territories, Somatic Responses have now embraced more up-to-date and modern sounds and tackled the current dubstep sound that has taken their native UK by storm, and are ready to out-bass pretty much everybody else.
Mercury is definitely an important release for SR as it displays their progression further into dubstep & it's ever mutating siblings. A shape of things to come AND some of their best material for some time.
