Leopold formed in 1996 in Los Angeles California. Eddie Rivas was found by placing an advertisement in the Recycler. He was later lost but found again wandering the streets naked. No harm was done to him and police, after a thorough cavity search, agreed to release Mr. Rivas and allow him to continue his responsibilities to Leopold. Both Mr. Karlen (drums) and Mr. Reese (bass) agreed that it would be in the best interest of Mr. Rivas that he continue his residency in the small crawlspace below the stairwell of Mr. Karlens’ home. He is fed three nutritious meals daily and enjoys the company of a large black rat named Mr. Huntington. Day shows are rare for Leopold since sunlight (or any bright light for that matter) causes great pain to Mr. Rivas' eyes. It was discovered that due to being kept under the previously mentioned crawlspace and only allowed to go outdoors during nocturnal performances, his eyes became extremely sensitive to the slightest hint of light. A fund has currently been established by Mr. Karlen and Mr. Reese in order to provide corrective surgery for Mr. Rivas' condition.
The only joy in Mr. Rivas' life (besides spending time with Mr. Huntington) has been playing guitar in Leopold. We hope that you enjoy what Mr. Karlen, Mr. Rivas and Mr. Reese have collaboratively created under the guise of Leopold. Fell free to contact our offices if you have any questions, concerns or contributions to make to Mr. Rivas' visual correction fund.
Thank you,
Leopold

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a tune called Run Bobby Run:
