"If you think you have seen just about every trick the Portland music scene has to offer, you haven't heard Les Flaneurs yet." - Portland Mercury..................... "Clark sings commandingly, with an awkward phrasing reminiscent of Dylan in his mad hatter phase" - Willamette Week ................... "post-punk with really cool rhythms and cool guitar work. It is awesome." - www.crappyindiemusic.blogspot.com ................... "originality that is hard to come by" - www.miccontrolblog.com
Les Flaneurs have carved out a musical space much like the space of the city: at times a pulsing knot of rhythms and tones, at others a stark and ominous backdrop, moments of rushing noise punctuated by solitude and exchange. These songs are about the distances between the buildings, between rent checks and bill boards, between stories and Stories. Les Flaneurs draw from the art rock impulses of new wavers like Talking Heads and Bill Nelson's Red Noise, the bold rhythms of Captain Beefheart, and the piercing guitar hooks of Television and The Pixies. 2009 will see the release of their first full length album, Villain. More to come!!!...
